Thread: Cable issue. | Forums

Checking to see if anyone else has had this issue and solved it.

Its been working for sonce I got it in October.

Now when I plug my cable in the guitar does not work.

PS3 can see the cable and knows that its plugged in but when I go to the amp all I hear is static and white noise.

Tried two guitars same issue, unplugged and plugged the cable back in - same issue. Left cable out of guitar - same issue. Rebooted the ps3 and tried again - same issue. Unseated and reseated the break away cord - same issue.

It seems that the cable may be broken but I wanted to check before I worked out how to get a replacement.

Guitar cables can be touchy beasts.

If you coil them tight the signal wire
can break or the shielding mesh can rip
    under the rubber coating.

If it just when out all of a sudden,
then either the analog to digital
part burnt or the main internal
    wire broke.

Time to get a new cable, I think
they sell the single cables for
    Rocksmith on Amazon.com

    sorry to hear it.

Has anyone dealt with customer service who may know the specifics of the manufacturer's warranty? It's quite possible it's covered for a year, you may want to check into that. Submit a ticket and see what they say, perhaps.

I had the same thing happen today. Game and cable are only 3 days old.

Same thing happened to me tonight. Haven't even had the game 2 weeks and it looked like the connector sparked when I was plugging it into my guitar and didn't work thereafter. Other than that, the game's awesome!

I had the same problem. Second time playing the game and the game won't pick up sound. I used an Ohm meter and there is no connection between the disconnect and the guitar plug. I'm going to try and buy a higher quality cable.

Mine had a problem straight out of the box, was getting no connection at all (probably a solder issue) took it back and the exchange seems to be okay apart from a few issues from time to time.
These leads seem be to be very cheaply made, I was hoping it was going to be an adapter that would allow me to plug in one of my many leads Ive accumulated over the years!
Guess I should have known better, these things are going to break on us all the time, leaving us at the mercy to buy brand new leads.

I don't want to slate this game because I am having a lot of fun with it but I cant help but think this lead set up was designed to nickle and dime us in the future.

Have had connection issues with my guitar and my Xbox. Played the game without issue for one day. Next time that I attempted to play, Xbox did not recognize that my guitar was plugged in. Sound check with not allow me to "Make some Noise". Currently on my third game after 2 returns. Do not think it is a cable issue by a 'glith' in the game itself. Was initially able to play again on the Xbox after opening a differrent account on my Xbox. Now that strategy no longer works. Fun is on hold. HELP!

A friend of mine is a long time guitar player and electronics repair shop owner. He commented to me that the plastic sheathing on many cables can be an issue with connectivity. He only uses all metal jacks. Here is a photo, if the forum lets me upload, comparing the Ubisoft cable to my regular cable. Notice the difference where the hood meets the jack.
