As of patch 1.3, when I start the game the mouse works in the menus, but not while playing a game. However, when I fully quit back to the desktop and restart the game mouse movement in game is recognized! This behavior is consistent and repeatable every time I restart my computer.

Anyone else having this issue? Any work-arounds?

I have the same, it's a reported bug. I can mainly reproduce it in MP. If you join a server then quit out back to the main menu screen or the MP option screen, you can hear what sounds like clothes shuffling, when that happens you know you have the glitch. The only work around is to quit the game and restart, it doesn't effect SP, unless I go to an MP game first, quit server then join SP the mouse will fail to work, unless I do that I can't reproduce it in SP.

Have you tried switching from a usb mouse to a ps2 mouse, or other way around?

Also, have you tried unplugging the mouse while the game is running, after it glitches, and then plugging it back in?

Just grasping for straws for ya to try...
