Thread: We want more Far Cry 2 DLC! (Poll) | Forums

In the delightful response everyone has given, I'd like to put my two cents into what I would like to see with som DLC.

And I agree, lots more new weapons. One of the few things that made the Single Player Story Mode so fun, whether you were playing seriously or for fun - was the variety of weapons.

Preparing a reasonable weapon class to suit your next mission was always fun.

And to be honest, there needs to be more added to that.

I propose this idea, create a new DLC resolved around a great number of brand new weapons. Nothing too serious, just a list of about 10 new weapons available for Multiplayer and Single Player.

Silenced M4 Carbine (There's not enough stealthy weapons)
    Magnum
    M60E4

    to name a few

I agree but I think new gametypes should be added the multiplayer is bland. Predator mode from FC1, an infection/zombies gametype, VIP/assasination, territory gametype, search and destroy/assualt gametype, and king of the hill.

DLC without extra missions in story mode it's pointless

we need extra missions provided with new weapons
(good and unique one, not same the actual one)

More of a patch, but, sort out the gun jams! Why would a brand new gun have rusted up after five minuites firing???? Maybe if you held it in the sea or something, but not after firing just a few mags. And why does MP need weapon reliability? I get ten or so kills with my AR-16 and it rusts up and jams

god no... zombies have nothing to do with mercenaries in africa

im curious why people want far cry to combine EVERY other theme game, zombies, race tracks etc... there are plenty of games specifically designed and intended to appeal to people who want to race around, or kill zombies/mutants.

do people go into like a left 4 dead forum and ask to have african mercenaries and a capture the diamond patch with a horrible african voice over??

i dunno maybe im missing something....

also we already have a territory/VIP game type its called uprising, its where your Captain (VIP) needs to be protected in order to capture territories and win the game

just because some game type is in another game doesnt mean we need it in FC2.
also adding game types outside of whats there now, would probably negatively effect maps already made because they would be unable to support an added game type like a search and destroy because the map would not have anything to destroy or search for unless edited.

ultimately the most logical DLC for this game would be map editor tools, brushes objects, weapons etc.. maybe some new SP missions but as far as new game types and all that i think ur S.O.L because it wouldnt be as easy to implement as a game where there are a set number of developer made maps that they can alter easily to accomodate any changes or added game types

    THANKS!

I think there is nothing wrong with comparing FC2 with other games, but it should be the same TYPE!
Would you go to a "Gran Tourismo"-forum and say "Mario Kart is much better 'cause you can jump and shoot turtles at your opponent!" ?

@ Hetzer: the weapons aren't "brand new", they are several decades old, heavily used and shipped around the world from one war to another.Listen to jakal-tapes (No. 3 esp.) or watch "lord of war". Sorry for "smart-assing"

To the topic: i think SELLING new maps splits the community, means you have to wait even longer for a MP-game to start.

My opinion is that this DLC bull edit should never have been invented.

I mean... really... there was a time were you got a game and created mods for it yourself. Free to use for everyone else. DLC is just a commercial adaption of what the game modding scene does... after all, Far Cry 2 wasn't even 'finished' before the first DLC appeared... expensive but useless additional content for a game that failed and still fails in many aspects.

Before UBI creates more DLC that screws the multiplayer even more, they should finally solve the problems I have with joining online sessions... so that I don't need to think to have waisted CHF 110.--.

It would be great if there was a Zombie Mode.

Or something like Horde mode from Gears of War 2. Something that involves fighting waves of enemies in a co-operative battle with your friends.

I know I like the fights against enemies where my friends are teamed up against the AI.

It gives you something to do that isnt competitive (not against other humans), but also with friends (you cant play on any other modes with friends, other than Multiplayer).

So basically, yeah, we definately need some new Game Modes for Multiplayer. But also for the game itself.

Something else to do after the Story Mode, the Map Editor, and the Multiplayer.

Of which - only one of those features allows co-operative gameplay. It's like this game was never built with some form of co-op in mind.

I feel like Ubisoft really didn't care much for this game. I mean, look at EPIC with Gears of War 2. Now that's a game with everything in mind. Everything was considered. The highly cinematic and entertaining Story Mode. Fighting the 50 Waves of Locust Horde for fun, and for competition.

Then going to Multiplayer for addictive, highly competitive and enjoyable action (except when you're poorly teamed up by the TrueSkill Ranking System so it's noobs vs veteran Gears).

And don't forget all of those game modes allow you to co-operatively play alongside friends every time.

Far Cry 2 never provided anything of the sort. Which is only off putting.

    Game Modes to add:

    Horde?
Mercenary Hunt? (Terrorist.. Mercenary... Tomayto.. Tomarto)

    Game Modes online:

    King of the Hill
    Territory Control
    VIP
    Attack and Defend

Yet separating Uprising into 3 game modes provides variety, and one simple objective.
