Thread: Horrific Texture Problem | Forums

  1. #1
Attached pictures will give the greatest information about my problem, it's somewhat difficult to explain.

I have searched forums and google for answers and the only possible explanation I have is that perhaps I really do need DirectX 9.0b instead of my current version, 9.0c.

I have Windows XP, BFG 9800+ GTX, all updated video drivers, and I've never had a problem like this before.

I've tried many different lighting options and none of them give me any success, and I've tried different resolutions and different texture/all other advanced graphics options to no avail.

I have tried both 1.4 and 1.33 patches as well.

All of my other games work great (Crysis, Assassin's Creed, COD4, etc.) so I do not think it's a graphics card related issue.

I have even tried loading other levels using save games from quite some time ago and I have had no success with that.

I once had an ATI graphics card in this computer and have since removed ALL related drivers which was also not the solution to the problem.

    Help me please!

All right, as a slight update, I have reconfigured Far Cry and put the install disc in and instructed it to "Repair". I had to insert discs 4 and 5 and it turns out that returning the game to v1.00 has solved my problems. It would be nice, however, to have at least some upgrade so that I have no SP bugs (I mainly want to play SP anyway.) Any suggestions as to what I should do?

Anti aliasing and HDR in combination can result in such graphics, could that be it?

It could be the AA and HDR problem. You can only use one. I would turn off AA and go with the lighting.
You do want to patch to 1.33 for single player if you have a PCI-e video card. DirectX 9c should not be the problem.
