Ive only just started playing the game, but when i go into rooms on hte ship in the second level, my characters movements become very jerky. is this a known problem does anyone know? Or should i just uninstall and start again???

It is a known problem for systems that are underpowered for the game. Most likely, not enough memory and you are being shunted to a swap file on your hard drive. Optimal system specs are 768MB to 1024MB RAM, CPU >2 GHz, decent DX9 128MB+ vid card (open to interpretation). If you have a system like this and still get stuttering, check your swap file size.
