Thread: For players that want a more realistic military combat FPS experience | Forums

  1. #1
I remember the last time I was on this forum, just after R6V2 was released. Many old school FPS combat sim players like myself were very disappointed with this game.

I just wanted to let those who would like a more realistic military sim experience, know that Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising is sounding promising for us old school R6 fans!

My apologies to those who love the R6V2 game, please ignore this post and continue enjoying the game.

I will not post the link to the video explaining the details of the game. Just search Youtube for "i34 - Operation Flashpoint 2 Promo" and have a look for yourself.

Op.Flashpoint and O.P.F.2 are kind of cool but... Maybe you should check this if you "REALLY" want a REAL MILITARY TAC SIM.

    NO B.S.

VBS2™ - Virtual Battlespace 2 - is a fully interactive, three-dimensional training system providing a premium synthetic environment suitable for a wide range of military (or similar) training and experimentation purposes.

Developed by Bohemia Interactive (BI), VBS2™ offers both virtual and constructive interfaces onto high-fidelity worlds of unparalleled realism.

VBS2™ is used right now by military organizations worldwide including the USMC, ADF and UK MoD for mission rehearsal, tactical training and simulated combined arms exercises.

Highly recommended if you are into "Realistic Military Tactical Sim"

Are those the CG for the game or actual in game renders? If that's an actually render then you will need a good system to run it.

well thats the kind of graphics that they are planning to achieve by the end of development. So i have no clue. They are planing on making the game run on not only quad core but octo- core by next year. Release date is spring 2009.

here is a video of in game footage of a tank firing. The effects look amazing.
