Question about new F-18 shiny canopy effects. | Forums

Noticed all the new F-18 models in Lo-Mac have a certain realistic reflective shine to their canopies that the other models don't. Looks like ED actually implemented environmental reflection mapping to the F-18 canopies and it looks fantastic.

Just wondering if the same is going to be done on the other models in game... and would add that extra touch of visual realism if it were.

Screenshots are taken on a variety of systems, with a variety of graphics detail settings. Some systems that cant handle the extra "eye candy" may have cockpit and canopy reflections disabled. I believe that these reflections are aparent on all types of aircraft, as of the newer game builds that come along; but some of the beta testers, or whoever takes some of these screenshots, may or may not have the reflections enabled on their systems.

Thanks for trying to shed light on the situation, but the only model that's ever had the canopy reflections on the external view is the brand new F-18 model in the very recent builds. None of the other planes in any of the screenshots ever released have had the feature. It does look like something specific to the F-18 model right now, and was wondering if the other models will get the same treatment.

I've wondered about this too, looks like it's there on the MiG-29 though.
