I'M REALLY HAPPY FOR YOU AND IMMA LET YOU FINISH BUT FINAL FANTASY IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME... OF ALL TIME

Hang on I just read the blog. I am actually aghast that someone who works professionally in the games industry could be so oblivious to the Legend of Zelda franchise. Thinking it's for kids? I expect that rhetoric from non-gamers but come on! Zelda is thematically far more mature than Assassins' Creed.

Assassins' Creed 2 and Brotherhood are excellent games but just they're shallow blockbusters with ridiculous stories compared to the subtleties of the Zelda series.

Assassins' Creed is doing well because it is shiny and new, but the series will be long forgotten when people are still waxing lyrical about the joys of riding across the plains of Hyrule at sunset.

I have greatly enjoyed reading through all of these comments and I think you are all very right about a lot of stuff. I don't disagree with anything any of you have said.

*Except* maybe the final fantasy comment Ninja_Kn1ght - can you hate me any more?

*Except* this blog is not about slamming Zelda. I recognize that my pre conceived ideas about Zelda must be wrong. Because the fans overwhelming support for this franchise has to come from somewhere. I am curious as to why I don’t feel more compelled to play through an entire Zelda game? Why was my experience different? I am asking questions. How is that bashing Zelda?

And, JJ Rage, the fact that Ubisoft makes Assassins Creed has nothing to do with my blog or my opinion of the franchise, shame on you for suggesting otherwise.

Maybe when Ocarina of Time comes out on 3DS this year, you can give that a shot, although that may be one slightly more for the nostalgics.

Twilight Princess and even Wind Waker, both playable on the Wii, are highly enjoyable once you get into them.

and Final Fantasy is the best. :P

That might just warrant the purchase of a 3DS. Then I could see what all the fuss is about...since I'm all out of GameCubes.

Nonsense! There are cubes to spare in every pawn shop or online auction site. They also have handles, they beg to be carried and turned into purses as well.

Also, I love blogs that question the norm or that really start conversations.

Just out of curiosity; What's your favorite game/game series or the first game you really feel in love with?

Thanks for the awesome sigs Phin and Calamity!

Perhaps, but you DO realize that your blog - at least in part - makes you look like a corporate cheerleader, right?

My first week at EA, a friend of mine posted some NCAA 12 screenshots on Facebook, talking about how excited he was. A friend of his responded by going on this almost entirely unrelated diatribe about how much EA sucks, and how he hated all the changes to Fight Night, and how he hated the online and blah blah blah. I stepped in and defended EA, not because they pay my bills, but because I thought his opinion was extreme and wrong.

He reacted by checking my profile, seeing that I was employed by EA, and calling me out on it.

Point being, intent really doesn't matter. There are enough people that don't take the Dolls seriously without what, on the surface, appears to be a Assassin's Creed fluff piece. If you think my reaction is negative, imagine the ****storm if your blog appeared on Destructoid or Kotaku. I'm not saying I believe you're biased, I'm saying that's what it looks like.

And forming an opinion of any game after 20 minutes of play is a disservice to the game itself. How can you expect a game to hook you in 20 minutes?

How long would you suggest then? I am currently playing Portal 2 and they had me in the first 5 min.

It is a tough one. I love the way that Assassins Creed - at least the flagship titles, are using historical reference points and making a wonderful game ot of it. I think given time, they might come ontop of the way Zelda is coming at the moment, and I did like Assassins creed 1&2 more then twillight princess/spirit tracks/phantom hour glass. And that is a bitter pill to swallow as I aws one of those people who waited for TP - year and a half delayed.

If you, however compare the Assassins creed flagship titles and the Zelda flagship titles (Ocarina of time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twillight Princess), those three would win hands down. The spinoffs, as much as I liked the Zelda series, Oracle of Seasons / Ages, Minish cap and the ones that I didn't like Phantom Hourglass and Spirit tracks, but I haven't played the spinoffs to compare.

Zelda is going down hill (SO FAR - skyward sword will hopefully saveit), Assassins creed, however is getting better and better - Give it 10 years, then we'll find out who's boss
