Thread: Would like to know if game will run w/ these specs before I open it | Forums

    Hi all,

I realize this might sound stupid but i've played games before just inching on the minimum specs and in the past haven't had too much of a problem with it. I recently got R6:Vegas for the PC but I don't want to open it right now if my comp isn't going to be able to handle it. I was curious if a p4 2.8ghz would be enough instead of the p4 3.0ghz min req to play this game. My video card is also a sapphire RADEON X300SE (128mb vid card), i'd like to know if that would work with the game and if not, how far off is that from one that does? I also have 512 RAM.

If the game won't run on my computer, what steps should I take specifically to upgrade my computer so it can? Thank you.

My cousin has a Pentium D 2.8ghz, 1g ddr 533, and an nvidia 7600gs. Runs pretty crappilly at 800x600. I wouldn't really play it like that on his setup. Also, your video card is not Shader Model 3 compatible, I don't think, so it probably wont even run. :/

lets put it this way...if i upgrade my RAM from 512 to 1024, vid card to the top of the line, will it work well even though I've only got a 2.8 ghz pentium4?

Probably not. Because upgrading to the top of the line card will also require upgrading other things like power supply. You would also want to upgrade your processor too (lol). AMD and Intel GHz rates are strange. A 2.8 AMD may have the power of a 3.4 GHz Intel.

    I'm using:

    - AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.4GHz
    - nVIDIA GeForce 7900GT 256MB
    - 1GB Ram

Yes, I realise the huge bottlenecking problem with my CPU and GPU.

The game runs at an average of 45 FPS on 1680x1050 (widescreen hack). But lags terrible when the mouse moves, dunno why.
