Quite a basic POLL this. But it will give an idea of what the census is on this forum.

I will most likely buy the game eventually. The only thing that makes me wary is the Online mess. The only experience that I have had with an online system was with the game Red Orchestra. I legitimately own it but I cannot play it at all because I lost the code or whatever it was I needed. So now I have a worthless disc. I don't know if the SH system will be the same though. I hope not.

I will not buy it no matter what UBI do- add extra subs, remove DRM etc etc. The DRM issue annoys me and I won't support ANY game that has such a system- I made that mistake once, with SES's Jutland. And I haven't forgotten UBI's actions with IL2's 4.05m addon either (the BoontyBox fiasco).
The KNIL is dead. Long live the KNIL!

you had to sign in to play the multiplayer for both SH 3 & 4.

SH3 had starforce and SH4 something else cannot recall.

people still bought the game and played it. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Sign in for Multiplayer is not quite the same as permenant online connection for SINGLE player though is it?

In answer to the original question:

I am totally undecided, I had been going to get it, hell I had been going to get the CE, now I'm not so sure, 1 sub I can deal with (modders can fix) war ends in '43, more of a problem, but again modders could fix it. DRM, yeah great big screeching halt.

I may wait for the reviews and the feelings of the people on here, or I may pre-order it anyway depending on what answer I get from ubi, or I may not bother and walk away from Ubi entirely.

What I'm going to say applies to every Ubisoft game which is about to use the new DRM method.

Yes, I will buy Ubisoft games if:
    - DRM proves to be uncrackable
    - a patch allowing the users to install&play offline is released after a certain period of time (up to one year after release)

I will NOT buy Ubisoft games if:
    - DRM is cracked. If that happens, I will demand that it be removed before buying any game.
    - no patch removing copy protection is released.

So, I've chosen the "totally undecided" option. I'll just wait and see what happens. I WANT to buy SH5. I do. But the conditions mentioned above have to be met.

Of course I'll buy it! It will probably be better than all previous versions, and I'm connected to the Internet, so I will not have any problems playing it either.
And further, I cannot understand people complaining on the official forums that it's no longer possible to steal the game! It's the thiefs to blame that the SH5 budget is too thin to make a complete uboat sim...

Noticeing the "Yes I will & No I won't" votes are fifty fifty as of this post tell me UBI has REALLY infulenced some and a lot of the "yes man" are little rich boys whom don't give a tinkers damn about anyone but theirselves. UBI broke them in well.

Won't be long if this all goes through that each time you connect to the internet the big cheeses on the other end will see just how much money you have in the bank.

Some of you yes boys may ought to think about that.
