To what extent are the various Tom Clancy games realistic in terms of weapon performance?
I find it hard to believe that:
A: More modern sniper rifles are weaker than old fashioned bolt action sniper rifles.
B: Machine guns have no practical advantage over Rifles, and are in essence completely useless in every possible situation against skilled opponents- suppressing fire never EVER works. Anyone can easily stand up from behind cover even if you are prone and aiming directly at them with the trigger fully depressed. Then they'll fire a single AK-47 shot and one-shot you through your level 3 armor.
C: Submachineguns are better than Rifles in every possible way except for accuracy at extreme range, in which case they function well enough that one would only choose rifles for ultra long range combat.
D: Ultramodern automatic shotguns are weaker than their prehistoric counterparts. Hey, what are we hunting here, terrorists or ducks?
QUACK!
Also, whats the deal with revolvers? Is this 1818? Why not add in flintlock pistols? How about wheel lock pistols and muskets?
Its been several decades since anyone in these games' target demographic gave a damn about "Dirty Harry", lets move on to the 21st century, shall we?

And now, a list of demands:
If you absolutely MUST include dozens of nearly identical or completely identical weapons in your games (does anyone even care about the differences between the various pump shotguns in RB6:V) add in "style points" to the stats system. Using a pump shotty rather than the sexy autoshotty will result in more points, and thus encourage the usage of the inferior-but-in-every-clancy-game non-automatic shotties.
Stop including "no launcher", "no camera gun", "no explosives", and "no UAV" options to GRAW games. The game is called "Advanced Warfighter" not "Quake 5". Don't put in all the coolest stuff imaginable if you know that 99% of the populace will remove them from gameplay. Balance the maps differently if you must.
Likewise, let us play with that automatic grenad e launcher, some anti-tank rifles (without BS "flaws" added in for "balance"... I want to be able to spawn at the start of a game, turn to face the enemy spawn, fire blindly, and have my bullet pierce every single obstacle between the barrel of my gun and the enemy who just spawned, and kill them in one hit even if I just barely graze their lapels).
Hell, let us call in airstrikes. Realistically (none of that "stand still in the open with a laser pointer" ****
).

I agree, but I do like revolvers... Mmm... Revolving... Guns... Yeah.
