    Cops suck.......

So today me and my dad went to the cemetery just like everyday and we stopped to talk to that gay guy on the way in like we always do and we take off to go see my mother and sister when we see Ron sitting on a snowbank (Ron is an old man who comes and talks to us just about everyday so he's a friend of ours) anyway hes there so my dad stops and asks him if hes alright and he could barely talk so my dad asked if he wanted a ride to the hospital and so my dad helped him into the truck and Ron could barely move my dad had to practically lift him into the truck then as we were driving off a cop pulls in and my dad just kept going and after we turned around the cop was right up behind us with his lights on but as that happened an ambulance pulled in so my dad drove up to a clear spot with no ice so they could come and take care of ron without slipping and when my dad stops he goes and checks on Ron and the big tough cop comes out (well really it was a small little guy with a big badge)and he asks my dad why he didn't stop when he saw him flash his lights and my dad told him to get away from him and that he was trying to help ron and my dad seriously was trying to help ron but the cop had to try and show his authority there saying things like "I'm incharge" so my dad was getting mad so my dad said something about hitting the cop and so they came close to arresting him when finally my aunt got there and calmed him down and even after my dad calmed down the cop kept after him trying to show that he was in charge. So even though I didn't go into everything....cops suck. well at least a lot of young ones do.any cops here want to tell me why cops suck?

Sounds like your dad's a tool and should learn when to keep his mouth shut.

I'm only 20 and I've had enough experiences with police to know that when they ask you why you didn't pull over, you don't say 'Get away from me' and give them trouble. You just can't win.

    Cops around here are scared.

Theres been alot of shootings here lately.

I know a family who called the police because a whole gang of people were getting ready to fight on their street over drug money. THe local Crime Watch there was threating to film the fight (wich was an empty threat because the the film was broken, or something), and when
the "gangstas" heard that they started throwing snowballs and causing trouble to their house. They called the Police, one officer came, and didn't even get out of the car. After he left everything got worse, so they called the police again, three cops came, and never stepped foot out of their squad car.

The stinkin' cops are too afriad they might get shot, than to actually serve the people...

To paraphrase Samuel L Jackson: "PUNCTUATION! DO YOU USE IT?"

Seriously, Tmb, I couldn't make heads or tails out of that. It just runs on and on to the point where I was spending so much effort separating one sentence from the next that I'd lost track of what you were saying.

I understood what you were getting at. One thing your dad should have done was explain that he was trying to find a non ice spot to stop for the ambulance. It matters not the age of a cop – young or old – some are just down right nasty. In a situation like this you have to step back – bite your tongue – say nothing and do what you are told, out side of telling them that Ron is a friend and you were trying to help him. By fighting the cops you are doing your friend an injustice and not really helping him or your selves.
But understand not all cops are like that. I know quite a few who are very nice and act that way with everyone they encounter.

Just like the cake is a lie, so is the registration date.

The police have a thankless, tough job. They deal with filth day in and day out. They put their lives at risk anytime they do even the simplest of tasks like pull someone over for running a stop sign. The vast majority of officers do a wonderful job given the stress they go through on a daily basis. The problem is that along our lives, we all eventually run into the bad apple, and that guy can really make life a living hell for an ordinary, law-abiding citizen.

However, your father acted very foolish in this situation. I can understand why he didn't pull over at first, but when that cop comes up to the window your father should've acted polite. He should've said, "I'm sorry, sir, but my friend over here is having medical problems and I'm taking him to the hospital." Remember, your father was on the verge of getting arrested for running from an officer. There is no reason to give a cop ****, ever, and it will only get you into trouble if you do.

If your father had done that, and if the officer was a good cop, the officer would've either gotten an ambulance immediately or he would've escorted your father to the hospital. Both courses are much safer than driving like a maniac through the streets of wherever on your own.

Before you get on the police's nuts, try to put yourselves in their situation. In this case, you're an officer trying to pull someone over for a routine stop, and they keep going anyway. Now you start to think all sorts of things -- is he drunk? Is he drugged up? Is he a dealer? If so, does he have a gun? Is he violent? I bet a lot of you guys would s*** your pants on here if you had to be the guy pursuing your father. Then, when the maniac finally pulls over, you go up to him and he gives you an attitude! This wouldn't piss you off? This wouldn't make you nervous that the man is dangerous?

Everyone loves to hate on cops because of their experience(s) with officers with a Napoleonic complex, or a cop who's giving out thin tickets because he's trying to meet his quota for the month. Those officers do exist, and like I said, when one finds you it can make life very inconvenient for a short while. However, that is not a reason to hate ALL cops, and it's certainly not a reason to give them an attitude.

TFS_Jackie: The way you had that typed was an obvious attempt to evade the word filter. You should know that by now. That was screenshotted and recorded. This is a warning. Next comes a one week ban.
