Thread: What's Town and Creatures u want in HOMM V?? | Forums

  1. #1
Well, i know there have been a lot of posts like this...by i really wanted to start a new one since i really love to talk about HOMM ...
Ok, for me...is not that easy, so i will make a quicky review of each town(HOMM III, since in my oppinion is the BEST ONE OUT THERE), and tell u what i think about it's units...mainly naming the best ones and something i would like so see differently...

Castle-This town in a must have, since here are the good guys, and is one of my personal favorites. The CRUSADER isn't only a MUST have but is definitely my favorite unit in these town, Archangels are the trade mark of course, and maybe monks could get some kinda first aid spell or even resurrectin or something like that, maybe even prayer so they look more like a cleric instead of a "mage".

Necropolis-Must have too, i mean here are the undead, u can't hate this guys. Vampire Lords are AWESOME (even though i HATE the look of HOMM IV, they should stick with the nosferatu look of HOMM III), and Death Knight are really cool too...even though i would like them to look more like a Ring Wraith (NAZGUL in the LOTR) but o well...over all an awesome town!

Tower-Well, it wouldn't be a Might and Magic game without the magic, right? This town rocks, even though i would suggest some changes: goblins must get a new look (that clown outfit is not good at all!), gargoyles should get new look too (bigger and more menacing), Golems are a must have, so do magi :P, and Genies(never really like them)could be changed for something else, different look, same "abilities" maybe an enchanter of some kind, magi, look cool so they should stay, and nagas and titans are a must have, even though i would suggest a new look on the titan.

Dungeon-One thing that Trully bugs me is the fact that here lies a town mostly based on greek units and then there lies the DRAGON, i think this town should be rearanged, only greek units...maybe even moving the titan here and leave the dragon to the tower, for image purposes. About the units, the DRAGON is the only one i trully like :P!

Rampart-Another town that trully bugs me! U see i am a BIG Tolkien, D&D fan, meaning i can't see elf and dwarves fighting along side each other unless it's an impossible quest to save the world :S...this town has a lot of potencial if it would spread in two...having the elfs, dendroids, and unicorns in one side, and dwarves, rune lord (my idea of a new unit), berserker (another new one) in the other side.

Stronghold-Well, i like this town, even though i don't like playing it, i like playing against it...since this are mainly the orcs. I suggest a hole new look on the orcs, make them more like BIG ORCS and add wrog riders instead of wolf, and maybe some true mighty TROLL insead of the Cyclops (another greek units missplaced :S)

Inferno-Well, well, even though i think it's units should get a total make over, this is a good town! And a must have since u got tha Angels, so u need the Devils (i love the look in the preview screenshots by the way)

Fortress-I hate this town, i don't like them at all...their units are totally mixed up...Hidra (another greek missplaced unit :S) and dragon fly (come on!) the only thing i like about this town is the basilisk and the gnolls the rest i don't care at all!

So, that is it...if i had to choose a town to leave it would be the Fortress, i won't give my ideas on the conflux since i think it should not be a town at all...elementals should stay as neutral or summon units not as a town (at least that is my idea)

Hmm... About that Rampart-section... You should remember that the Tolkien universe is different from the Might and Magic universe. They don't have to be totally equal.

    yea.. about the rampart...

Dwarves and Elves don't have to hate eacother just because Tolkien made it that way This is M&M, not LotR.

Rampart is my favorite town of all.

ok, sign me in... i love rampart

i like the idea of elves fighting alongside the dwarves, but i'm rather sceptical about these elementals-yeah, i know, 'nature alingment' and so on, but i'd like to see the h3's rampart again...(fire elemental in the forest? and what it's supposed to do there? burn it? phi! )

Knights - If I were to pick one unit as a symbol of the Knights, it would definetly be the Paladin/Crusader. I love the mythology about this unit. Righteous, evilslaying, doublestriking, ultrahighstat swordsman (Heroes II version).
The swordsman should be upgradable to either Paladin or Crusader. The Paladin should be heavy melee with ultrahigh stats except hp and wield a doublestriking twohanded holy sword and also have some defensive aura since he is a "protector of the weak".
The Crusader should be inquisitorlike in that he charges quickly over the battlefield and does great damage to Inferno and Undead. Should have normal human armor, normal stats & hp and a huge warhammer that does incredible damage against demons and Undead.
All other units are secondary in importance but an Archer that upgrades into either a Crossbowman or a Marksman are also very important.

Wizards - Wizards are masters of magic and therefore this town should have a great emphasis on magic. Order magic to be more specific since it fits perfectly with the patient nature of Wizards.
Some creatures that instantly make you think "Wizard!" are Magi, Genie and Titan. The spellcasting Magi and Genie are must haves while the Titan are the pinnacle golem power.

I don't know what Halflings are doing in a orderly town though. They don't know jack s*** about magic and live in holes in the earth which makes me think that they really should be in the Naturetown with the Elves. The Dwarves though fit better with the orderly Wizards than the Elves.
And those things the original poster said about D&D and Middle Earth is as it should have been. It's much more logical and suits better.

Way too tired to continue typing. See you tomorrow.

I don't think the Titans are golems in the M&M universe.

actually thats D&D, not Tolkien's world... in Tolkien's world the whole lack of trust was because of sauron and ended with the beginning of the fourth age

that said, they don't feel exactly right in the same town, unless there is a change from what we already know... and pretty much the only creatures i care about are elves... sharpshooter-like, butt kicking ones ...not like those from HoMM4

    * will probably edit this post later, after i get some sleep... there are in fact other creatures i care about...

Where do they get these stories? Let's set the facts straight. First off, there was no raping; very little pillaging and Frau Blucher popped all the eye*****. - John Cric
