Thread: HL2 Source engine for BIA (?) | Forums

  1. #1
I'm curious about the engine that'll be driving BIA... I've been playing Counterstrike Source and the graphics/modeling are phenomenal as we have all (probably all) seen in the Half Life 2 E3 demos. Looks to me like BIA is going to have very good facial movement and body reaction to various physical "abuses" let's say... What's the engine driving it?
I can only imagine what it would be like if the Source engine or similar ran BIA. I know the Day Of Defeat Source will be released upon HL2's release and it should be a huuuuge improvement over the basically cheezey graphics on DoD now.
    Can't wait.

actually dod is one of the best looking games on the hl engine. i don't think they're cheesy at all. look at how old the hl engine is and tell me you're not impressed by how far the dev team has pushed the engine.

    and yes, dod:s will rock.

Gearbox hasn't discussed the engine and modding capabilities (outside of a map editor that will be coming out) in public yet, I'd expect that sutff sooner to release.

Theres a little joke thats going around their boards that BiA runs on the hamster engine, which has hamsters running around on wheels to power the game
