Can someone please explain why SH3 takes over 30 secs to load just to the menu, and then another 30+ secs to load any mission.

I have an Athlon 2800+, NF7, 1024MB RAM and FX5600.

Is there a away of shortening this load time?

Thats really very fast... I have to wait nearly 2 Minutes. That is a long time to go for a coffee.

30 sec per loading.....start up screen and then the mission is FAST....I increased my ram to 1 gb and it helped greatly.....There is alot of info to load on the missions so.....it takes a bit alot of random information is generated. Loading a save should take quite a bit less time...since all info is compressed and saved...hope that helps.

Mine takes 2 minutes to load the main menu; 30 seconds would be great! (But I'm running the minimum specs (1.4GHz Pentium 4, 512MB RAM), so I'm just glad that the game seems to run pretty well once it is loaded)

Unless you buy a Western Digital Raptor 74GB S-ATA 10.000rpm, maybe faster than 30 seconds

Thanks for making me feel better, but still do not undersatnd the need for 30+ secs delay to the menu. Is it for the movies along side the menu????

A lot of data to decompress + load into memory.

30 seconds I wish. My takes a minuite to get to the main menu, then 2-3 minuites to load my game. I usually go and get me some rum then.

Yeah, the game has one of the most atrocious load times I have seen in a long time. I haven't "timed" my load times yet, but I think mine are closer to the 30 second mark then anything else, but that is still WAY too long for 1gb of RAM. I dont even have load times of that long with Half-Life 2 for pete's sake!
