Thread: Can I use 2 different makes of throttle at same time? | Forums

Reason I'm asking is because I'm having a hard time trying to find the right setup for FB - I want to be able to fine tune prop pitch with a slider but my CH throttle doesn't have an extra slider or analog dial, and my Fox Pro 2 Shock only has one slider (that I use for elevator trim)

I'm thinking of getting the Saitek45 combo and just using the throttle on that for prop pitch - plus it looks like there are other dials on there for other trims.

Is this possible - to have both hooked up and working at the same time?

If you had the X45 you wouldnt need another stick with its 2 rotaries and throttle. I use an MSFFB and an X45... prop pitch is on the throttle of the MSFFB, rudder trim is on the twist handle of the FFB. Elevator & aileron trim is on the rotaries of the X45. Works fine for me..... so to answer your qestion yes you can... I have pedals running too so that makes 3 inputs with no conflicts at all.

Why would you need an entire HOTAS system for just prop pitch?

I use the thumbswitch on the CH pro throttle USB for prop pitch and mix set up in non-directX positional mode with 4 NULLS in the middle to accentuate the thumbs natural flicking motion.

[ NULL NULL NULL NULL ]

= NULL NULL NULL NULL -

Keys on the end are assigned to prop pitch and mix increase and decrease.

I have acheived flight sim nirvana.

Hawgdog - yes you can mix different throttles. I went out and got the X45 yesterday and it works great. Now I've got two throttles - the CH works the throttle and I set the X45 to run the prop pitch - precise control - plus it's cool to have two separate throttles on your desk!!!

I tried the X45 joystick - but I don't know how anyone can fly without force feedback - plus, that pinky switch is real annoying. It just sits on the back of my desk (unfortunately you have to hook up the throttle to the joystick, and then the joystick up to USB - no big deal - I guess I could use all the switches on the joystick for other stuff - haven't decided yet)
