Thread: Understanding what I am seeing. | Forums

  1. #1
I am still making little head way with "divide and conqure" - Asian campaign.

I have had some luck but am still getting kicked badly.

When I am making an attack, and am "in their territory" I see one of their guard towers.

Their solders walk up - without shields - then when they arrive they suddenly get shields.

Now, ok, this could be something to do with their technology that they have shields and I don't, but it would appear to me they are being promoted, or something like.

Would anyone mind helping me understand what is going on so I can stop it happening and maybe keep the ground I have captured.

    Thanks in advance.

The enemies are protected by the shield spell that their priests have cast on them. You can do the same with your own soldiers. The spell protects the soldiers for some time from getting hit too badly. You should use your manna for better spells though, like for the stone to iron spell or the call for help spell. I don't know which mission you talk about. My german version contains no mission of which the title matches the sense of 'divide and conquer'. Please give the number of the mission, and tell if it is the original cd or mission cd that you play.

    Thanks Settlersam.

    Shall look at it soon.

    SP_Nucleus,

    (or anyone else)

I have a screen grab of the "mission" at the start - to help others in where I am in the way of missions.

Where/how to I make it available for people?

(I don't have any webpage space.)

    Thanks.

I am playing the original disc missions.

Haven't got far enough down to do any "extra missions" (like quest of the amazons.)

    The mission number?

Errrr, where is the number shown?

At a guess it is 13, but not sure. Read other post. I have a snap shot of the window - mission briefing - but dont' know how to put it anywhere.

On the start screen of the game, click the 'campaign' button. All the missions that you may start are listed. The last one in the Asians list is the one where you are stuck.

    Ok,

    Thanks.

    Alas I haven't done that - yet.

In the mean time just out of interest, what is your mission #13?

It'll be a week or so before I can get back on the net. (Unless I get lucky.)

On the bigger topic of the mission:

This mission is the one where I start in the top left corner with 2 factions of the emeny. One to the East and the other to the South East.

The enemy is split and an attack on the northern part.

In my area, there is a lake just to the West with mountain north west.

To the south (west bit) there is a swamp just after a lake.

To the east of that there is a mountain range, then some land and another lake.

Above that bit of land there is another lake.

Back to where I start, going along the top there is a nice bit of land then at the extreme East (right side) going south, there are mountains there too.

    (Lots of lakes)

And I have not got much further than that.

    That's mission 4.

Richt at the start...after crushing all your towers but 1, gather all your soldiers at the eastern border and attack the (north-)eastern territory. In the meantime, start to build a normal economy and 2 healers.

Don't be afraid and be quick! When they have lost their northern part they will not do much for the rest of the game.

There is no mission 13. There are 8 missions on the original cd for asians, 8 for romans and 8 for egyptians.

    Thanks.

Shall try next time I play the game.

    Notes from this end:

I only have a few solders at the start. A FEW! Wouldn't of thought that they would of been enough to do it, but shall try.
