Thread: Could Not Communicate with Account Server | Forums

  1. #1
    When I try to log in to R.U.S.E. I am not able to connect to the Account Server. I am getting the error message "Could not communicate with the account server."

    I have all my ports open. Is the account server down or is it a problem on my end?

    Ok so the game is working now and this is what worked for me.

    Locate the HOSTS.txt file found under this path, C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. Open it with notepad, and then 'Delete' everything below these two lines of text:

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    ::1 localhost

    Now save the file, make a Backup of this file, reboot, and run the Game launcher/game as an ADMIN if under Vista/7.

    Also I configured my network to allow Steam and R.U.S.E. access to the following ports:
    • UDP 27000 to 27030 inclusive
    • TCP 27014 to 27050 inclusive
    • UDP 4379 and 4380
    • UDP 3478

    hope this helps

    Nope, doesn't work. Thanks for trying though. It's more help than I've received from Ubisoft, Steam, and Direct2Drive combined so far. -_-*
