Thread: Weapon Of Choice? | Forums

So now we definitely know this game is going to kick some serious butt, what weapon will you be sticking with most of the time? I love the Thompson (of course) and wouldn't mind firing off some shots with the M1 Garand either. These weapons combine make a lethal combination and I personally cannot wait to use them, especially in this game.

Although I have played with them in other WWII titles, from the videos these weapons especially sound realistic. It's incredible. It sounds exactly like a Thompson machine gun - awesome!

Anyway, what weapon are you going to use most of the time?

I will use the m1 Garand when I am at long range and the Thompson when going to flank or assault an enemy. i agree with you these two guns make a great combination
Soldiers usually win the battles and generals get the credit for them

In CoD2 and 3, I try my best to get those two weapons together (from the dead - lol ) in multiplayer. They are awesome and I cannot wait to use them in Hell's Highway.

For some reason when I kill people with the Thompson its a lot more rewarding and feel a lot cooler (me ) So I'll probably use the Tommy in SP and MP

I really wish they'd just give you one weapon still.
It's soo unrealistic(me=realism nut) to lug around two ten pound guns with you in battle, especially if you were running/jumping around all the time. A slinged gun would jump around so much it would probably break with all the action you are doing.
If anything, they should have stuck to one weapon with a sidearm, like lets say an m1 or m1a1 carbine and a 1911.(Seeing as the TO&E issued the M1 Carbine to squad leaders, the Thompson was not the "squad leader gun")
I could never see myself running around with an 11 pound thompson and a 20 pound B.A.R., it just isn't physically possible to manuever in such ways with that loose piece of metal on your back.

Anyways...I will get off my soap box on this topic and leave it for your discussion.

they just need options to meet everyones need without too many limitations, i kinda want 2 guns because 1=boring, i switch often in shooters just to vary the gameplay. if you know what i mean, but since ther is 3rdperson itll be more varied

It's probably just me, but I don't mind having only one gun the whole time, like in Red Orchestra, they perfect this. They do an amazing job at weapon limitations, yet it is an extremely fast pased intense realistic shooter.

...Maybe if they do this, give you one rifle, and give an option to swap rifles with another squad member at any time. I like that idea.

I said it before, and I'll say it again: No soldier will willingly give up his weapon in the field (It's like pulling the IV out of your arm in the hospital bed-your weapon is your lifeline)!
