Four MLU F-16s from 10 Wing at Kleine Brogel AB, Belgium, deployed to Landivisiau Naval Air Station in Bretagne, France, last October for dissimilar air combat training against Dassault Rafale F1s from 12 Flotille. The training, a first between the F-16s and the Rafales, began with four F-16s versus two Rafales in a beyond visual range scenario and ended with two F-16s versus one Rafale in a visual scenario. The two F1s, the first of 220 aircraft ordered by France, are primarily used as carrier-based air defense on the Charles de Gaulle.

Hmmm, now the difference between 'new' and 'old' is more clear I think. Even without stealth!

This just shows that the 2 planes are very even matched, 4 to 2 ended 2 to 1. Wich is a proportional stalemate.

Pilots is waht counts. I would like to know this story in detail.

I would also like to know additional details. And what should be taken into account is, that the F! standard of the Rafale is at the moment relativ limited in it's capabilities.

The standard of the Rafale is indeed limited.
Its capabilities in terms of weapon system and avionics are those of a mirage 2000-5 right now.
I guess the training made the difference.Keep in mind that They were 1 against 2. I think this is quite encouraging for
    Dassault.

Ehhh, it says nothing about which plane "won", it only mentions the two different training scenarios that were used!

Yes I was wondering if I had read the thing properly because that's what I understood too.
