i like a lot of others have been getting the server error message for over a month now. i know others have been getting it longer, but i think i have figured something out. i never worked at my house no matter what settings i used. tried router, dmz, port fowarding, even connecting straight to the net with no luck. then i took my ps3 to my brothers house and bam!
uplay logged in within seconds. it even works on his 360. i took his AC2 game to my house for the 360 and it was the same as my ps3, nothihg but the no server message. so try it at another connection if you can and see if it works. i logged it several times to uplay over the course of about 4 hours and never once got the server error message. maybe uplay has nothing to do with it at all, just the connection its self. and btw my brother has the same setup as me. i made sure just for testing. hope this helps. one more thing, does anybody know if the shipyard will be coming to the US anytime soon?

I will try it next week when I probably stop by my cousin's house. Does it work again now if you go back home?
Also about the Shipyard -
I'm not 100% sure, but when they release the 2nd DLC next month, it's supposed to contain all 3 extra maps along with the rest of the missions.

just tried this moring with no luck. tried all different settings, even the one that worked at his house. i am on hughes sat, and using linksys wrt300n router. same at my brothers house worked, and so did his netgear, even an older linksys 54 something i think. both wired and wireless worked at his house. he is on at&t dsl. neither wired or wireless workes at my house. a freind of mine who is on an isdn line says his uplay works all the time. i also tried a free trial of earthlink dial up, but also a nogo. i hope this helps others as well.
hopefully they will add more uplay stuff for AC2.

I see, but that doesn't help, since it doesn't work at your house. It is really frustrating. I'll keep you posted if I get it to work by itself and you do the same....

NOW, the UPDATE AS PROMISED, a long, long time ago:
Here's the reply by Ubi tech support:
--------------------------------
Hi toeachhisownmask,
If you know of anyone else with the same problem, please direct them here for support. We now know how to correct the problem, but it's not something we can actively search for. We kind of have to wait for someone to write or call in with the problem before we can look into it case by case.
Basically, when logging in to Uplay from the game for the first time, it creates an account on our matching server using the information of the console account (PSN ID or XBL Gamertag). When logging in from the web with a Uplay account that is linked to your console account, the account that is created on the matching server uses the Uplay account username instead of the PSN or XBL username. In very rare cases, the server has trouble "merging the accounts" and it ends up with corrupted data in the database preventing access to Uplay on the affected title. The issue has been fixed moving forward. The symptoms are being able to log into Uplay from one game, but not another.
I hope that makes sense

So that was it...! After a year, my Uplay is working again! So, now it seems they can fix the problem... So what are you waiting on? - FILE THE TICKET!
