GWX has the same bug - I called it "ghost ship".
You can find ship, sink her and get ... no renown.
You can see how she is sinking but no info "she's going down".
I thought it depends on shallow water but please see few screenshots :
Large cargo on horizont (water deep more than 1000 m)
deck gun fire
she sunk and ship disappeared from main map
I repeated attack by torpedos and the same result.
I'm very disappointed with such bug. Can anybody tell me what to do ?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
You may think that you're a real skipper, some of whose victims are not confirmed by BDU, thus not getting the renown you should...and hope someone solves that.
Maybe those ships were reaching the end of their curses, so you shoot against a ship that was vanishing in the air.

After three attempts I let her sail (don't loose anymore HE) and Large Cargo was on the map till Gibraltar strait. That wasn't end of her course !<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
had similar results with 2 phantom tankers once in GWX
