Install Problem (transforms) ???? | Forums

I had IL2 FB installed on my system since it was first released and happily flew around filling the sky with lead and planting lead daffodils all over the USSR. One day I noticed it was getting a bit stuttery so I decided to clean up my PC, as I was also going to purchase LOMAC I thought it would be wise to clean and de-frag ready for the off.

I downloaded advanced uninstaller pro, uninstalled all my games and cleaned my pc from top to bottom. Everything went well until I tried to re install IL2 FB, on starting the install I get the error message "ERROR APPLYING TRANSFORMS. VERIFY THAT THE SPECIFIED TRANSFORM PATHS ARE VALID.....E:\1033.MST"

The installation then stops when I hit the "OK" button. I get no option to verify the path as it just quits ????? I don't know if this is a common problem, something to do with the clean up or what ?? I re-installed medal of honor AA, breakthrough and spearhead with no problems after the clean up. If anyone can help.... thanks in advance !!!

I had something simular with the origianl IL2 but it was in Russian text I think I had to reformat to fix . Not saying you will have too. Are you trying to install it with a CDRW? If so try a regular CD drive

Hi-there is already a thread on this forum where I have posted the cause and one solution--at least for xp users--see Ravuris post "unable to reinstall IL2 Forgotten Battles"-should do the trick.Good luck.
