Thread: Navigation screen | Forums

Hi, I'm new to the game and must say pretty impressed with it.

The only negative thing is the lack of detail in the manual,in particular i am struggling to use the navigator properly.I try plotting courses but I just end up with line after line across the map(the rubber doesnt seem to do much).

Is there an in depth guide anywhere to the navigation function(I have tried a quick search but not found what I'm after)

    Thanks

    Mike

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Have you checked the Community Manual ?

Im sure you will find all answers there.

Cel, I checked the community manual it doesn't provide much help.

Have you done the navigation tutorial? and look at the manual again.

The eraser or 'rubber' only works on waypoints (the little flags). click eraser then click on one of those and that navigation leg should disappear.

select erasrer and hold the 'shift' key then click on a navigation waypoint and it will erase your entire trip.

Same goes for the other lines and objects you draw. click once to initiate, drag, then click a second time to finish your drawing. To erase select an endpoint or startpoint of the object and click it with an eraser.

Also try a few MODs, as these improve the whole visual appearance and make a lot of things easier.

    Welcome...

Thanks guys that was a big help. I completely missed the option that shows how things work in media player and just read the tutorial brief

One more thing that confused me was that my sonar guy picked up a contact and staes "Bearing 010",Now the only target ship I could see was due south and I was going south. When I altered my course slightly the report changed to "bearing 005".So do contacts get reported relative to the direction you are facing or is it a compass bearing of a ship that was out of visual range.

The bearing to targets is always relative to the direction of your U-boat. This is also how teh bearings on your periscope/UZO/hydrophones work. If the ship that was reported by your sonar guy had been in visual range, then you would have seen it through the periscope or UZO at a bearing of 10°.
