Same issue, installed, updates, and when I click to play the program stops responding. There seems to be no help on this forum. Every fix that seems promising links me to a page that has been removed, it appears from my point of view that ubisoft does not want this game to be playable. I will be returning the game and filing a formal complaint with your company.

Not able to get past pressing the 'play' button either, I get the black screen of doom. Glad (?) to see it's not just me though.

I am sorry this is a recommendations thread but I am also having the same issue and glad to see I am not the only one but disappointed because the Demo ran fine except a few glitches which I did not mind... So how is it that the full game is not compatible with my laptop but the Demo is?? This makes no sense and the fact that this should be mentioned in the email sent upon buying the game, I would have waited to buy the game or Ubisoft looses a customer... Either one is not an excuse to fail to mention something as critical as this.

    Toshiba:
    Satellite C655

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 380@
    2.53GHz
    RAM 4GB (3GB usable)
    64bit
Conexant CX20671 is my graphics card (I believe)
^This is my graphics driver, my graphics card is Intel(R)HD Graphics.

HERE IS HOW TO FIND YOUR GRAPHICS CARD, USE THIS SIMPLE PROCEDURE IF YOU ARE UNSURE:
    (retrieved from Answers.com)

    Answer:

Do you have an Intel sticker anywhere on your computer? Or an AMD sticker? If Intel, their site can detect which driver you have.

    Another way
Press Start and go to Run (if you're using Windows XP). Or, if you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7, go to the Search box. Enter "dxdiag" and then click Enter.

What is 'dxdiag'? "Dxdiag" is Microsoft's multimedia test program, which will identify your graphics card or chip set.

If you already have a graphics driver installed, you can use this procedure to identify the card via the driver name.

    Windows XP:
    Right click "My Computer"
    Click properties
    Click Hardware
    Click Device Manager
    Click Display Adapters
It will tell you what kind of card you have.

    Windows 7:
    Click Start
    Click Control Panel
    Click System
    Click Device Manager
    Click Display Adapters
    4 GTX 580s in Quad-Sli

    More information
Try opening the run command and typing 'dxdiag' This is a diagnostic tool for direct x. Here you can see how much system ram and the speed of your CPU. It will also open a bunch of tabs for video, audio, etc., too. You will see the amount of video RAM on the video tab and the chip type (Nvidia GforceX, Intel XXXX, ATI XXXX, etc.). If your computer has win2k or XP, you have direct X. If you use your computer for gaming, you have direct X. If you have an old win98 machine, you may not have directX installed. You can go through the Device Manager to get some info, then.

    More information
Depending on your Operating System, check the device manager OR right click desktop and drill down to "Properties" then select the "settings" tab, then the "advance" tab.

    Hello,

It's been 2 months since the game's release. Is the dev team still trying to fix this black screen and cursor problem? Or are they mainly concerned with fixing in game bugs? If they are trying to fix the black screen + cursor problem, how are they progressing? I would like to know. I would be very appreciative if a rep gives a reply. Although, it's pretty daunting to see a rep making 1 post and never replying again for 7 months. Please understand, it's hard to abate the frustration when I pay 50 dollars for something that yields not even a minute ounce of content.

    Sincerely,
    Diffor

Absolutely nothing else would allow this game to even launch for me, and it runs perfectly at the highest graphics settings now that I've done this tiny, 30 second registry edit.
I clicked on the link and it goes to an error page. Is the link broken?
