Can't Even Play The Game | Forums

This is the first game i've bought and downloaded online. Everything went smoothly with the download and installation.

However, I can't play the game if i quit after the initial reinstall. I also can't link what error message I get because the window closes instantly when it pops up. Furthermore, I can't patch the game with 1.5 because when i run the patch setup it tells me that Heroes 5 isn't even installed on my computer.

If you have any ideas or fixes for these problems i'd like to know. I already lost a game where i was almost done with the demon campaign (having completed the haven one) and i'm more than a little ticked off right now that i can't play my "new" game.

You needed the game cd/dvd to play the game anyway. The cd/dvd installation will include an installation key to your O.S.'s Registry. That key will tell you and the upcoming to be installed patches of the existence of the installation and the proper directory's path where it should be installed.

These download installations are only to allow you to install on another PC than your initial one with a properly cd/dvd made installation. It is a licensing renewal download installation, only.
