Yes it would be nice if there was a write up on how to setup a dedicated server from a networked computer to work online.
When I create a dedicated server nobody ever connects, and I cannot see the server on the game list. What gives?
I've even added the ports to my firewall as exceptions but it still never works. I am also not through a router.

it tells me Appearing Illegal Character Mapping Ports
even though all my ports are open it still gets disconnected....must be something with your servers! please fix it!
Nobody can connect to my dedicated server. I see them attempting to connect but they all get dissconnected right away.
I left it running for about an hour and every single user who tried connecting, got booted.
Still waiting for info...
Well it seems I can run a dedicated Ranked server and players can connect and play without any issues.
So what am I missing with custom maps? Why the constant disconnections?
HOW? DID YOU GET IT RUNNING? what did you do different?

I honestly didnt do anything different than whats on the first page. I portforwarded to 9000-9060 TCP and UDP however the DemonwarePortMapper automatically did - UDP any -> 9002.
This whole time I've been trying to get a custom map going but couldnt and blamed the settings. But in fact, the settings are fine, for ranked servers. At least for me.
But who gives an eff about setting up a dedicated ranked server. The whole point of users like myself setting up servers is to run their OWN maps.
hi okes, im trying to connect to a friends server, iv updated PB, iv never been able to connect to any online games on far cry, iv opend all ports... what else must i do ?? and all my firewalls are off... can som1 plz help me!
