    I'm running a P4 2.4G, 512MB DDR266, GF4 Ti4200 (4xAGP), SB Live Value, WinXP Pro /w SP1 & DX9, latest omega driver for my GF.

I got excellent performance on "excellent" graphic mode. But a bit low fps in perfect mode.

    Any suggestion??

Try 1024 res. you will always get low FPS on perfect mode unless you have a very very good system and even then they will not be great.

Try this. Go into the Display properties click on settings, click on advanced and click on your card. Click on Performance & Quality and where it say's Image Setting, slide the bar from Quality all the way to High Performace. Set your AA no higher then 2x, AF 2x and no Texture Sharpening.

Next, click on Direct3D settings. where it say's Midmap Detail Level, change it from Best image Quality to High Performace. Also dont put any check marks in any of the boxs. The more crap you add the harder the VGA card has to work to give you eye candy, wich in turn takes away FPS.

    Have fun!

You will benefit from adjusting your hardware acceleration on sound. You might not be able to get away with sliding the sound acceleration all the way to the left (reducing). Should you encounter sound problems, accelerate the sound (to the right) in stepped increments until the sound returns to normal. If you have XP Home Edition you go...

Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio devices>under the volume tab you will see at the bottom "speaker settings" click the advanced option>click performance tab and slide hardware acceleration to the left. I would try standard acceleration first.

Another thing to do is stop print spooler. Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services and stop print spooler before you play game. Do not disable it or you won't be able to print later on. This will free up memory that dumps everything to the spooler like you're going to print it.

Also, download, update and run spybot (DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE W32Spybot VIRUS) Spybot found and removed over 250 spyware programs (on my system) that AD-Aware missed.

For XP users, the following site has some easy to apply tricks to improve performance..

    http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/supertweaks.htm

These steps, combined together, will give you conservatively about 20% better performance in IL-2 Forgotten Battles over the less efficient configuration that XP is set up with in default setup.

And for all around help and just great sites in general for helping you out try.
