Does anyone know how I can get the 1000 thales to pay for the sulpher from the merchant/trader?

I am a little confused that you have made it this far and you need to ask how to get 1000 thalers?? You do know that thalers are the currency in this game (e.g. gold)?

There are a number of ways you can get thalers:

1) Income, your workers will pay taxes. Troops need wages so maybe you are losing money each day?
2) Build a storehouse and upgrade it to a marketplace. You can then sell resources at your marketplace.
3) I'm not sure if it is available in The Flood level but, you can build Banks, these work like a refinery so you need some residual thalers first.
4) Chests are dotted about in most levels with different resources, sometimes thalers.

I played this game the other day and I'm sure I either found 1000 thalers or someone gave me 1000 thalers reward for something? Yeah, now I think about it, I'm sure that the merchant who sells the sulphur gives you 1000 thalers reward for getting the key for him.
