Well, I have an odd situation here.

I purchased the game recently, because the trailer blew me away. Anyway, I installed it fine, and tried to run it. It would show the spash screen then my computer would get the totally awesome BSOD. I suppose it'd be appropiate to state I use a Gainward Geforce 3 TI 200 128MB. I came to these forums and noticed the Geforce 3 series to not be supported. I was uber pissed. I wasn't really planning on getting a new graphics card just yet. As the card I have now is more than capable of running the best games on the market, save this one. However, I broke down anyway, and bought a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. It's coming this afternoon, actually. This too, is besides the point.

I came to a LAN party tonight. I wanted to show a buddy of mine the trailer, then show how the game would crash on my computer. Lo and behold, the mofo runs! I'm stumped on this one. It doesn't run, then it does? And then not on a supported chipset? Say what? I'm patched up to 1.02.

Maybe it's just a fluke. Either way, my 9800 Pro comes in today, so I can juice up all the graphics. Can't wait to test drive HL2 on it, either. Later, fellows.
