I cant get my game started. 1st when i run game launcher and it says checking for updates and then it says ubi service is unavailable at the moment. i reinstalled the game and still same problem.

If you have a router in your home network, please make sure that you have the latest firmware installed for that device. Your router manufacturer should be able to help you complete this update.

- In addition, the following ports will need to be open in your router or any firewall software you may be running:

9103, 9100, 10196 (UDP outbound/inbound)
80, 3081, 3105 (TCP outbound)
22350 - 22380 (TCP inbound)

If you are unsure of how ports work, the best course of action may be to contact your router manufacturer, system administrator or ISP for more information.

Please disable any antivirus software or Windows firewalls to allow the Ubisoft Game Launcher access.
You can always go back later and reconfigure allowances.

Un/Reinstall Game Launcher:

To resolve this issue, you may need to manually install the GameLauncher software, which handles the online authentication in the game. Please note that this software MUST be installed to play the game, and cannot be uninstalled or disabled.

First, you will need to uninstall the "Ubisoft Game Launcher" software from the 'Add/Remove Programs' (Windows XP) / 'Installed Programs' (Windows Vista and 7) icon in your computer's control panel. It's possible that the "Ubisoft Game Launcher" software will not be listed if you have already uninstalled it, or the game. If so, you can skip this step.

After uninstalling the software, you will need to manually delete any leftover files in the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher (32-bit versions of Windows) or C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher (64-bit versions of Windows). Please do not skip this step, it is very important.

Once you have manually deleted the files left in that folder, you can reinstall the GameLauncher software from: http://static3.cdn.ubi.com/orb...auncherInstaller.exe and then you should be able to start the game.

There may be several different factors causing a problem like this. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:


1. Some anti-virus or firewall programs may prevent the Game Launcher from communicating properly with the
service. Please make sure that you have updated any anti-virus or personal firewall software you have installed.
Some software may need to be uninstalled from your computer to play the game.

3. This problem may have to do with connecting through a proxy server to connect to the Internet. The Ubisoft Game Launcher uses the Windows settings for the http proxy, but some configurations could experience problems. If you connect to the Internet through a proxy, please try the following:

- Locate the settings.ini file located in the installation directory of the Ubisoft Game Launcher (C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher)
- Open it with Notepad, and add the following at the bottom of the document:

ProxyHost=proxyhostnameroxyport
OverrideProxySettings=1

You will need to change the proxyhostname and proxyport to the values setup for your proxy. You can USUALLY find this information by:

- Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools --> Internet Options
- Click on the Connections Tab and click on LAN Settings.
- The Proxy HostName (address) and Port can be found in this window.

If you don't know this information or are unsure how to find out your proxy settings, you may need to contact your ISP or network administrator for more information.

yes i use - router but i connect directly to broadband line and no result... same result same error message... a service is unavailable.

i did reinstall launcher manually according to your instruction but - i cant locate setting.ini file

By any chance, did you alter the Windows Hosts.txt file before ? First try this method, if it does not work, then something else needs to be done.

Locate the HOSTS.txt file found under this path, C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. Open it with notepad, and then 'Delete' everything below these two lines of text:

127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

Now save the file, and try launching the game. First make a 'Backup' of this file. You can also boot in Safe Mode if using Windows Vista/7, and run it as an ADMIN, to save the changes.

Since the new GameLauncher update, I think the UBI GameLauncher path has been changed to this configuration file path i.e.: "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Ubisoft Game Launcher\settings.yml". This is for Windows 7/Vista, and these folders may be hidden.

The settings.ini file has been changed to the format "settings.yml". For XP the path should be e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Ubisoft Game Launcher....

I updated my router and reinstalled game launcher and game worked ,after trying for 6 months ,my fault router was not updated.thanks
