Thread: Able to join games but not able to host. (TX-OC3) | Forums

I'm having problems getting the TX-OC3 dedicated server up and running. I have tried to join games and have no problems after patching (Including the reg fix). However, whenever I try to host a game, everyone who joins the game times out when connecting to our server... Any ideas? What are the required port ranges and have they changed from before the patch. We had no issues hosting before the patch.

Thanks in advance for any help/ideas provided....we just wanna get the server back up asap.

    Same problem here...

Last night only 2 of 7 CPS squad members online could host a game where others could successfully join. All others could start a game, but we would consistently timeout when attempting to connect. A few times, we even got some version incompatibility message. I did the regedit thing, a reg clean, and disabled the internet connection firewall in XP's Services tab inside msconfig. The firewall turnoff had the effect of showing my version of FB in the Ubi.com lobby as going from 1.0 to 1.1. That is the only thing that showed an actual change... praying for a miracle.

Which lobby are you using? Do you have any hardware or software firewalls? You must have udp port 21000 open.

    1. Using the IL2 Forgotton Battles Lobby where we have hosted a dedicated 24/7 server for quite some time now

    2. UDP Port 21000 is open. Have not made any changes besides the patch on the server. It was running without issues before the patch. Also, port 21000 is used but other ports are used when communicating with clients. I'm thinking that they may have changed the port range that they're using. We are also hosting HalfLife Servers on this particular machine. If port changes were made, they may conflict with the HalfLife server port ranges already in use. that's why I wanted to know the server required port ranges...

Last night came across similiar issues with a friends server.

Has the new code blocked servers on NAT/ICS?

Server in question is downstream of the internet facing machine, using Internet Connection Sharing.

Can connect direct (via IP) and to a hosted game but cant host on UBI.

    Any ideas anyone?

Our servers are on the internet and not behind NAT/ICS.

Anyone have any word on what ports are actually used and if Ubi is looking into this issue?

    The ports required for ubi.com are 80, 6667, 40000-42000

    80: Usual Web Port
    6667: Usual Chat Port
    40000-42000: Required Port for ubi.com

21000 for FB and 21010 for voice comms

Those are the ports...uncheck hide ip address also in game service settings
