Thread: Stuck in a weather blackhole... | Forums

Todays weather forcast: Sunny and Clear, Wind blowing north at 5km per hour. Expect the same conditions tomorrow, next week, and long range forcasts predict same conditions next year.

This is my 5th patrol and though I rarely complain about good weather; 6 months of perfect conditions like this in the middle of the english channel??? Give me a break.... How do I fix this?

I'm tired of playing in a bathtub.

Maybe we could trade? I certainly wouldn't mind some nice weather...
Now, the thing that annoys me the most about bad weather is not the disabled cheat gun, or even flak gun. What really annoys me is that my old tub (VIIB @ '42) tends to sink while at periscope depth in bad weather. It literally takes just a minute for it to sink from 12 (average) to below 15. The only way to counter that is to keep the engines running, which distracts me and ruins my position. Doesn't feel very realistic, unless the rough sea somehow sucks the air out of the tanks...

Maybe you should re-install the game? I'm on my 30th Mission in a VIIB (plus modifications) in First Flotilla and almost every hour of each day the weather varies all over the Atlantic as in real life. Good weather is fine for using flak and guns for protection (I've just downed three Hurricanes but run out of ammunition) but I've had many severe storms and howling gales. The graphics are excellent but sometimes I wonder how the sub keeps from sinking with all the water pouring over the bridge. I keep the engines on slow when stalking as it doesn't attract attention, even when meters away from warships.

My hint is the following: edit the file SH3\data\cfg\basic and search for the word "weather". you will get the first hit on "Badweather0=0.01". If so, change the 0.01 to 0.02. search on for the next Badwheather (there are 8 of them) and change them respectivly. That's it. Don't forget to sve the file before giving it a try.
