Or Are you ever going to finish that car...

    Here's my little project...

Been tarting up a 1994 Audi 80 2.0 Sport that I bought on Ebay last summer, mechanically she was A1, but the paintwork needed some TLC So I gave it a repaint to bring it back from the dead. The 80's were galvanised so there was no rust, just the usual dings and dents that always seem to happen when you leave it in supermarket car parks... The interior is having a refurbish, the alloy's are getting changed and I've colour coded all the matt plastic to match the body, which is standard Audi brilliant black with just a smudge of blue pearl put on before 3litres of lacquer were applied, then flatted and polished to a deep, deep shine.

All in all she stood me £550 for the car, £270 for the wheels and tyres and about a ton for paint and materials... Put on road tax and a few sundries brings it in at around £1200... Now, do I keep it or get a 2.8v6... Doh!

Made an Igloo, 6x6 feet, my daughter loved it, I slept in it a couple of nights ( my wife said she would rather sleep at home..he he..so I was alone there.), quite quiet inside, other than being 2 degrees outside, inside was cozy with three sleeping bags and thermal underwear), was a blast, lasted almost a month in full sun

Yeah, I'm in south Ga., it's 70 degrees F out there, no more time for winter projects than any other time of year, lol.
"The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.[Europe], under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep. If once [the people] become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress, and Assemblies, judges and governors shall all become wolves. " - Thomas Jefferson

Up here in Massachusetts we've been getting a week or two of bitter cold and a week or two of above average so far this winter, roller coaster.

Had a ton of rain last week, now it's teens and single digits again .

No real winter in Southeast Texas.

However, my wife and I just finished up redoing our bedroom. She hated the acoustical popcorn ceiling, so she scraped it off. Then I sanded it, then she re-textured it, then we painted everything, and made a window casement.

We just filled it up with some new furniture and our first HD TV which is only 32" 720p. Compared to regular TV, it's pretty amazing.

That little project took 3 weeks and raped my wallet.

She wants to rid the remainder of the house of popcorn, too. One room at a time I told her. Frack.

Our house has got a 32 inch CRT HDTV. Most amazing bit of kit ever, scales to standard TV sweetly. But 720p is fine, you can always switch it to 1080i for nature programs/slow panning films.

Yep. I caught that as a kid. Only thing worthwhile from the original series.

CRT?? Really? I bet that picture is stunning.

Our 32" LCD Toshiba Regza will accept 1080p input which looks fantastic, but it's still 720p in reality. I'd have to get a 42" Regza to get real 1080p, but I really don't mind considering the 32" was $799.00 US.
