OK. heres the deal people. I recently bought gears of war for the PC and I have to say its great. but theres one problem that i didn't realize when i bought it. i was itching to play some GOW multiplayer, but i found out you have
to pay monthly for it just like you would have to for xbox 360 online. i personally think that is ridiculous since a computer is not a console, no i understand that since the game was originally made for xbox 360 that they wouldn't make dedicated servers which are free on the PC. Now heres my fear, since gears of war for PC lets you play online with xbox players (console-PC compatible) only if you pay of course, monthly. Hell's Highway may be the same thing since all of the situations prove to be the same. From time to time HH has been compared to GOW.
They were both featured in games for windows and theres a chance there will even be the "games for windows" banner at the top of the box just like GOW for pc, this may not seem like anything different to the untrained eye but i think this means that microsoft is trying to implement a new type of "pay for multiplayer" system. Just like xbox multiplayer is called "XBOX LIVE", on the box of PC GOW it is called "WINDOWS LIVE" although its only my prediction of what microsoft is trying to do.
So what I'm trying to say is that it is very possible that we will have to pay monthly or annually or what ever for HH multiplayer. I think its completely stupid. shooting games are supposed to have free multiplayer just like every past shooting game that has paved the way for the new generation.
I sincerely hope my prediction is wrong, but from all this proof it doesnt look like I am. SO if i am in fact wrong. i hope everyone will PM me hate-mail. thanks!
