    Hello All

Been waiting for the patch to to come out before posting this so I could check what effects the patch may have on these mission files but since it is once again delayed I decided to put this out so that there is something new for you all to check out.

First off let me say that this is my first web-site creation project and it has been a terrific learning experience. It has a mission for Jane's WWII Fighters also that I created but I think you all will enjoy the missions for IL-2 FB. The IL-2 missions are basically the same mission with two versions - one at night and the other in a thunderstorm, there are considerable differences between the two missions, not just time and weather but the objective and flight track are the same. There are several screenshots posted from both versions on the site.

The mission is a Arcade style where you fly through a very steep mountain canyon, if you climb out of the canyon the enemy AA gunners on the ridge line will have you for lunch/dinner! So keep your head down. The idea for these missions came from the first Star Wars movie where they have to fly through a well protected canyon to destroy the Death Star. This is not an impossible to complete type mission in fact it is fairly easy and fun. It shows off some very nice features of IL2 FB.

Give it a try - feedback is more than welcome as I hope to create more versions of this mission in the future.

Oooops - Messed up the link somehow by adding or trying to add a screenshot so fixed the link issue but now how do I delete this message which I wrote initially asking for help with adding a picture link? Can it be deleted?

~S~ Cuda! It's great to see that someone still supports WWII Fighters, as well as IL2/FB!
You can use the edit message button, and take everything out of a previous post, but you cannot delete it as far as I know.
    Best Regards,

Thanks for the reply! Out of 100+ hits on my web-page the above reply is the only sort of input (good or bad) I have recieved, makes me wonder if any of this is really worth doing at all? Must not be many IL-2 players into flying the P47D? I would have used a P51D if it would be available but as rumor has it the Mustang will not make the patch. I got more replies from stupid questions I have asked in the past on this forum! Anyway "tsisqua" thanks for the post/support. I wonder if the creators of IL-2 take in consideration the expansion of profits and the game itself from including some Battle of Britain maps and some decent flying allied (British, American) aircraft? If I were looking to promote a product like IL-2 I can't think of a better way to peak interest??????????????

You really want to know, Barra-Cuda?

I was one of the hits to your site. I clicked the link,
looked at one or two pages then left.
    I didn't download your mission.
I don't normally tell a host the reason I decided not to download anything off their website!

What put me off the your mission download was your use of the word ARCADE.

I won't download an arcade mission.
I can make arcade missions myself - its really easy and fun too.
FMB is not so difficult to use, and it doesn't matter at all what units
I deploy in an arcade mission, or what unlikely scenes I dream up.

However I don't have much chance of accidently making a HISTORICAL mission.
I don't have the historical knowledge nor do I have
spare energy to devote to accquiring that historical knowledge.
    I'm busy with other things.

So the offline missions I download are missions that claim (just as the game itself does) some actual historical basis!

YES! Thanks for the input! I totally agree that we all have the right to download the type of missions that we personnaly enjoy and if "Arcade" style missions don't work for you that is perfectly fine, however this is not a mission I threw together in 10min and put on the site, in fact it took several weeks to work it out and several players helped with on-line testing prior to posting it. The actual mission file has so many objects that you can not read most of the labels on the map! Maybe a more detailed description of the mission is a good idea? My last post was directed at the virtually non-existent feedback of any type. Specifically I will use this mission and web-site situation/project as an example (3 weeks for mission developement + 1 week on-line testing + 2 weeks web-page design) and after all that work there is only two replies at this point with none from anyone who has maybe tried out the mission? That is not very good! Has anyone tried it? Are we all fixated on historically/politically correct missions and not willing to take a few minutes and have some fun??????

    Barra-Cuda,

The subject title of this thread caught my eye, because it reminded me of something I was wishing for the other day. It may already exist and I'm not aware, but I'd love to see a community mission and campaign upload/ download site (along the lines of IL2skins.com; or rather exactly like IL2skins.com) Instead of skins, you'd find missions with screenshots, # of downloads, author, etc. Seems like this is needed --especially now that missions are encrypted.

I know of many personal or squad sites that host their own missions (and yours looked great by the way), but a central database sure would be handy.

Again, someone point me to this site if it already exists.
