Lightning bolt spell animation (the lightning as such) is not shown if the target troop dies completely as a result . If the spell doesn't destroy completely the target troop then the lightning is shown properly. ( i think this happened already in 1.4, but I'm not sure)

Version 1.51 Bugs
Here are couple pretty major ones which have not been considered by the developers. It's about time they should look at these:
-Special buildings don't work: Stronghold Totem of Skulls(does not increase racial meter), Inferno Chaos Crucible(acts as a normal marketplace, no altered costs as in description), Necropolis Altar of Eternal Servitude.
-Inferno Might Hero does not foresee Critical Hits as it should(Special).
-There is no such skill which let's you choose where your Catapult shoots in Siege Battles.
-In battle keyboard shortcuts for Wait, Defend, Heroic Attack etc. won't work when your hero is attacked by enemy hero.
-Pressing Esc in Town Screen should act as a close window or back button, not as a Menu shortcut.
-Damaging Area Spells cannot be cast on obstacles.
-if a playing session gets long( about 3 hour or more on the same map) the game the game seems to get heavier and starts to slow down. Even with a high-end PC.
-Arena Autocombat Bug, if hero enters arena with the autocombat option on, the game instantly let's you choose the reward and you don't lose any of your units in arena "battle".
-When you complete a map and and press Load Game in the Map Finish Screen, the music get's turned off. it won't start until restart of the game
-DLC Cut Scene Music Bug: before thunderbird battle there was a cut scene which had two backround music tracks playing simultaneously(cut scene music and map music)
-the wizard guy does not look anything like a wizard in cutscenes etc.
-DLC Hero Model Bugs: In battle Crag Hack uses default Stronghold Hero model instead of Crag Hack Model. Crack Hags Wizard friend should look like a **** Wizard. He's not a shaman.

Keyboard shortcuts for Wait, Defend, Heroic Attack and Spellbook often stops working. I'd say every 3rd or 4th battle I'm in, whether or not was the one who attacked.

this game is never going to be fixed 100%
there will always be one teeny tiny bug (animations won't work properly for spells of heroic strikes or anything) that will still return with every patch. not gamebreaking but seeing the FIASCO that happened with the servers, the new bugs with the 1.51, the saves adn stuff. i;m quitting again for some months. and Xana in inferno campaignn cannot use firestorm it is greyed out. for no reason at all. that kind of bugs will always be there. lets hope they will fix them with some expansion on a year or so.

No i think this game will never be good and ballanced...... this game is still way too unbalanced... yesterday i played with a friend. he was a might hero, necro faction. he had about 200 of each core unit, about 50 elite units and 12 champion units. he went up against a stronghold army with less defence and attack than him and that army had about same amount of core units and a bit more elite units and 73 dream reavers and no champion units. My friend got overrun.....he made a shot with 12 champion units to a 150 brawlers that was standing 3 tiles away....full range attack..it took 13-15???? wtf... as mentioned he got overrun... the morale and luck of the stronghold creatures is too overpowered...
So THIS is my wish!!! in the next heroes game....UBI....PLS bring back the traditionel tier creatures...tier 1-7....it makes it easier for you too balance the game...

When I have castle and fort and I quickly switch between them, I will see castle but with towncreen of fort.

When i build Unique Buildings in Stronghold (maybe in other towns too) there is no sound of building.

I been away from this game for 4 months and me and my friend thought, hey they might have fixed the problem with the connection.
So we booted it up and updated and, what do you know... we still can't connect to each other in multiplayer. Now I incurage piracy but it seems to be the easier way to play with each other. This problem should really be top priority to fix, and if you say "go into the router an open ports" or **** like that you are not fixing it, when I buy a game I should be able to play it with out doing tons of side stuff that usally ment for pirates to work out things. Really now, opening ports is the main thing for programs that run pirated games in virtall networks. I really want to play this game with my friend but the problem persist, so I'll guess I'll just have to lean back and wait for more patches.
PS: I really really don't encurage piracy, I belive that buying game brings alot more joy to the game, I love the heroes of might and magic games, and the might and magic games for that matter.

I was farming the Gathering storm achievement the other day with my Tear II necro Sacrifice spell (defult cost = 80 mana). I kept restarting the 3rd champaign until i got the Week of the Mana Storm week effect on the first turn. But when i checked the spell log the Sacrifice spell was still showing 80 mana and also costed 80 mana in all combats during that week. I also didn't had any equipment equiped on me, just to be sure. When the week ended all spell costed less including Sacrifice (now costed 64 mana). So basically the Week of the Mana Storm was not calculated into effect at the start of week one. The game however was thinking that is was calculated, so it lowered all spells by 25% at the end of the week. It's clearly a bug.
I didn't test any other week effects, but any devs reading this go check the other week effects as well just to be sure.
UPDATE: I went playing the same map again and restarted until i got Week of Magic (25% reduction of spell costs) to test something out. On the start of the second week all spell costs increased including Sacrifice (now costed 106 mana). I tested it in combat and the spell used 106 of my mana on usage, every time i used it. However i didn't get the achievement. Spells still costed more in 3rd week and so on.
I really must point out the importance of checking the other week effects to the devs.

Whenever I purchase a new hero from a town, I seem to lose the edge-scrolling ability. Basically, I can't move the map anymore with the mouse. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Quitting to the main menu and reloading doesn't fix it. Only quitting to desktop and then restarting the game works.
