130 dead and that number increasing, 750 homes lost.

What a nightmare, death toll now expected to rise above 200...honestly I hope they hang the bastards if its proven some of the fires were lit intentionally.

Might be an idea to invest in one of these for when it happens again.

Respiritory system? Seems like a small price to pay for what you could pay living in such an area

Anecdotal reports suggest a lot of people were killed by radiant heat whilst driving their cars, cooked alive. Not a nice way to go

Heres to hoping the fires die down soon, Aussies on here...stay safe...dont bother protecting your house. Your life is far more important.

Yes horrible stuff to say the least Every time i check the news the death toll has risen by an absolutley stuggering amount, from what I'v heard some of the fires were deliberately lit and a lot of the area has been sealed off as a crime scene.horrible horrible stuff.
I won't go into what i would like to see done to those responsible as it's not at all very pc and appropriate for this forum,I just hope if that if this is the case that they are caught and brought to justice and punished to the limits of what the law allows.

My thoughts go out to all those families affected

    A sad day for australians

The approaching fires tricked many. They came from one direction, then swerved to another.

    Terrible, terrible tragedy...

I've never been around a big fire like that, one of the reports said even some cars driving away from the fire were overtaken. People couldn't see the right way to run or what direction the fire would turn.

People have lost their families, children, homes, pets...everything.

Bad stuff. Fire is a terrible way to go. Strange how in one pic, houses are gutted but the trees around it are fine. If this is the work of arsonist`s they most certainly should be punished.

My prayers for you all in that area.
