I have been wondering what could have caused this to start- I remembered that I was playing with the settings in ATI tray tools and had changed the refresh rate so I went back in and made sure refresh rate was same as desktop and used refresh lock to lock it down - I played last night on line and was fine- no problems and today played The black Death as a mission flying a sturmovich and again no problems. So its a bit early but I will keep an eye on this and report back if this has cured it for me or if it returns. I am running at 85 HZ

p.s. thanks for input to config- I will be updating it when next patch comes out as there are some other minor additions to go in

Hmmm, that interesting man. I always play with my desktop same as ingame. BUT, I have never messed with refresh lock while doing this, only when playing with other resolutions.

You should not have to worry about refresh lock with desktop and game settings set to match, only when they are different will windows try to set it back to 60hz while in game.

I will try this and report back, interesting find.

OK Dieg, I did some testing and I can still reproduce it 100% of the time.

Did you use the ATI CCC refresh lock or a seperate utility?

The BD track has never produced the effect for me. The reason is because it is an old track and does not have the Very large caliber AA guns that came later in the game. I believe it is the 150mm that is causing the problem.

    To reproduce do this:

Load QMB any plane and make sure you choose Crimea map and defense AAA. Start mission and immediately crash your plane into the ground in front of you. Now with external view, keep camera low to ground and pan around looking towards the peninsula and wait. You will see the heavy artillary hitting the ground. When this happens, "occassionaly" you will see the sky get corrupted with a slightly different color blue and any text on screen will go blocky.

    Have fun!
