I still run my video via HDMI and my audio analog direct from XBox to headphones. I've also tried running the video via component cables, and haven't really noticed any difference. I'm not willing to buy another expensive cable and try running video direct to my projector in order to bypass the A/V receiver, though--I'm just not going to completely revamp my home theater just for one game.

On the other hand, I can't imagine the points difference between running component video or HDMI will make a difference to the vast majority of players. It'll only be important for that small subset who a) already get 100% notes hit on most things and b) care a lot about maxing their scores. For me--as for most, I'd think--I can do better just hitting more notes correctly than by re-doing my home theater system.

So, how do you run audio direct to headphones from the xbox? There isn't a 1/4" or 1/8" jack is there? Or are you using the fancy turtle headset thingy... (forget the name)...

If the choice of HDMI vs. component makes a difference in how easy it is to get groove bonuses when playing completely on time then I would consider changing my AV setup... I know, I'm weird.

I bought the MadCatz analog audio out doohickey, then used an RCA-1/4" adapter for the headphones. I tried the Turtle Beach wireless phones, and they're great, but only if you have a huge head.

Not sure if this has been stated yet (not gonna read 55 pages to find out,) but Scale Runner would be MUCH more useful if it included the scales in positions 2-5 as well as just the first position. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard to add, no need to change anything other than just add a selection for position after you choose the mode and key.
My pick-up toggle switch has 3 modes: Swank, Extra Swank, and Super Swank

The concept is great. The song selection is not. I have returned to Rock Band 3 which has a much greater song selection, some of which appeals to boomers. Ubisoft would be well advised to cater to those of us with the money to download songs that bear some resemblance to music.

That's pretty funny, since a lot of us here are both that age and like the RS music. I mean, really, if your musical appreciation stopped in the '70s, I'm not sure how that can be seen as a good thing. But I hope you enjoy RB3...though it's a bit like saying you don't like not having electric seats in the Lotus, so you're going back to your electric Barbie car.

This may be in here amongst the 55 pages somewhere but I'm too lazy to read them all.
I think it would be a nice addition if the DLC had a short audio clip of the song you are thinking of downloading.

Really, this is a modern software company?

I like how I, and thousands of other customers and fans of your product, have to post in several different places online to get the attention of your company. Who is in charge? Do they have any business experience, or are they you typical POS CEO? If I owned stock in your company, I would dump every share because the leadership obviously doesn't care about what they sell or have any clue about what a winning product looks like. Instead of positioning yourselves to take the place of the Rockband franchise, you take one of the best ideas in gaming history and flush it down the tubes with poor programming and horrible support. Can you at least hire some PR people to answer questions regarding patches or at least massage the customers to the point where they don't find it necessary to go online and openly hate on a product that they would love if you at least acknowledge that you screwed up, and will rectify the problem ASAP? I have been gaming for most of my life, and most shareware producers have beter customer service than Ubisoft. If the captain is dead at the wheel, please do something about it.

I would like the ability to practice more than 1 song in a row, like building a set list, but not having to wait until it get qualified to play them.
for RS points only qualified set lists would get encores.

I think it would handy if there was a faster way to make a set list.
    like from the main menu

    Set list
    select a venue
then select the songs you want to play

then let you save it, so you have a preset set lists, that you can go back and play anytime you want. or let you edit it to change songs or venue.

    - let us sort the songs by Number of Times Played, so we can both easily get tot eh ones we like most, and see which ones we should play more of
    - sort by score achieved, recently played etc
    - sort by Drop D or standard E
and remember the setting after we play a song and then come back to the song list
