I just ran far cry on my new rig but there are several issues with it including black squares in grass, extra bright stuff, candle light effects and above all water that looks like it might be from atari era!

So I know far cry has issues with Nvidia and I wanted to install the 1.3 patch and the rest. Thats something that has proven to be quite a challenge thus far. I read posts about the issue. It seems running the exe with admin switch /a is supposed to solve the "cant click next on the installer" issue. Well... it didn't work for me? Any other suggestions.... Plz!!!!

Few things to try....

DocSEAL's all-in-one patchScroll down to Doc's post "Last but not least for today, I made a 1.0-1.33 installer. It's fully tested and PB worthy. The installer compresses the files, so ~100MB of patches ends up only 42MB. Steps to install:

1) Download and run: http://gotfrags.net/patch1.33/Docs_10_133.exe
2) Download (right click and save): http://gotfrags.net/patch1.33/133.reg. Right click on it and say Merge."

Run ccleaner and check for "issues".

Try to install from a clean boot.

Problem solved. the /a switch thing does work. I was installing it in the wrong directory. Just moved files into the correct one. Many thanz! this game looks so beautiful in all its glory! I wanna swim in the water... !

You may want to enable HDR if you haven't already. But since you solved your problem you may not come back to this thread to read this
