I apologize ahead of time if this is something you've already tried, but did you try pressing the End key on your keyboard?
Hi Midge--yup--thats whatI,m doing-game freezes for aminute then crashes to desktop--i thought about re-installing,but all them patches,or does the last patch cover everything,or do we have to do them one at a time?or some other solution-other than that ,game is running fine....regards
I would recommend installing the official 1.01 patch first and then apply the latest beta updated. I believe the latest one can be found here:

thx for that Midge--did as you said and now running fine.One thing when i map buttons,doesnt always come out right-or is this an issue?
MP works great-but I get torn to pieces evey time-Ok I approach a target waiting to get in range,and I just get obliterated-how can he be in range when i am not...Hmmmm !!!

As for the getting "obliterated" you're not playing on Ace are you? The difficulty gap between Pilot and Ace is outrageous. It's like night and day when you switch from the Pilot difficulty to Ace. One thing I notice is that some of the enemy planes may end up behind you and shoot at you but they don't appear as targets with the yellow or red symbol indicating where they are. This makes it extremely difficult to find and shoot them down. The only thing I can suggest is to use war speed a lot and try to out maneuver them. Also, if you're talking about coming up behind an enemy plane, they sometimes have rear gunner turrets, its best to use the ace kill feature or come at them from the side in this case.
