hi there guys. when iam playing online at night my ping rate is very high(around 100), but during the day time its fine(around 20). i have ran checks on my broadband and its running fine.is there any thing i can do to solve this????

What type of broadband cable or DSL? What time of night?
A large number of users online at the same time can slow your connection. When no one is home during the day it is fast, when they come home and go online, it slows down. There is nothing you can do but pick the times you play to be the off hours for the net usage in your area.

are you on wireless?

could someone be stealing your connection through wi-fi?

iam on a thompson adsl speedtouch.then a 15m rj11 cable. its the only computer in the house, no faxes just computer and a phone.

Ah well even if not, the points raised by the other guys are all valid.
Most ISPs for ADSL provide a fractional service.
What that means is if you are teh only user on the line you will get the figure they quote (500k 1MB etc)

However that link will be shared by a number of houses. The more houses actually using the service at the same time, the less bandwidth you have for your personnal use.

That said the difference between 20 and 100 sounds like your particular connection is being maxed out, I would definately do as jbrytus says; contact your ISP and biatch like hell!

2 things you can try before contacting them to support your complaint are:
1. Use the speedtouch diagnostics panel to see what connection speed it is reporting and what teh available BW is at different times of the day.

2. Do a google search for a broadband connection speed test to get an independant figure.

Note that unless you are guaranteed a minimum level of service there might be nothing that they can, or are prepared to do.
If this is the case switch ISP!

suprisingly, even at peak times, my stated rate of 1.5 stays that way unless there's trouble!

i have few domestic issues to handle and then i am constructing a rig worthy of my pistol: tentatively amd3000 (will attempt mild OCing),1024, 6600gt.
