Thread: any progress at all? | Forums

  1. #1
Have Techland actually started work on the patch? To my knowledge it doen't take this long to make a patch. Also is their any news at all concerning the 'Custom' maps? If a patch isn't ready and released in a fortnights time, me and my clan will leave this game and go onto a better non-ubisoft game.

I'd love to know about this as well. It's very poor support to give absolutely no details of anything to the customers, especially concerning fixing a clearly faulty product.

Look at other games. Patches are even released on the day of release. So ok you can argue that they should have just spent a little more time and released a good product from the start but at least they are very, very quick to respond to game bugs and issues.

Given the state of this game's multiplayer, it calls for a patch within the week of release. At the very least, developer details of progress.

you have to understand that Techland is the developer ..and ubisoft only the publisher..thats the first thing-- now a post from "seir" a techland employee posted this yesterday at www.callofjuarezfans.com forums, you can head over there to get newest informations or even ask them

    his last post :

I'll post it again and again and again. All I know is that:

    - patch is in development and close to release
    - servers are in testing phase (see "Techland 1/6" servers)
    - ChromED and a lot of cool stuff is in development
    - next DLC's are in development
    - demo version is released on PC, X360 and PS3

We won't leave you, a lot of bugs will be fixed but it costs time! You need to understand that WE ARE lisening to community and fixing that but it's not just like 5 sec. and it's done.

If he posted yesterday that makes the date he posted 13th august..

    ITS HARDLY 5 secs..

More like weeks.. and we didn't spend £40 and a further £7.99 under any agreement.. of the game HAS... online multi-player issues...

ALSO... they say it takes time, well it shouldn't be our time.. what do we pay for..? it should have been their time before they sold it to us.

    WOULDN'T YOU ALL AGREE...???

If theres a patch on the way, dedicated server in testing and ChromED is a level editing tool im certainly not complaining.

Yes Wasp, Ubi is the publisher and Techland is the developer. You need to understand that Ubisoft, as the publisher, has a huge amount of control over the finished product and the support post release.

Ubisoft has a history/reputation for taking games with great potential and ruining them with non existant/awful support post release. Farcry 2 is an excellent example.

In my opinion, Techland has done a fantastic job with singleplayer ub BiB, but the multiplayer feels very rushed. I'm also disapointed that a month after release there's no patch and very little communication to the customers.

Valve, Activistion, even EA out performs Ubisoft when it comes to multiplayer. Ubi is the worst of the big publishers out there for the multiplayer, and i buy games like this hoping multi will be great. Well, lesson learned, Next time i see the ubisoft name I'll know better.

I simply don't see why people want to give Ubi a free pass on this game. They published, they should accept the consequences of offering such a weak mp service.

Also, re people leaping to Techland's defense "the patch is coming" - bla bla bla. They should have patched this a long time ago, and should not have released at all.

And seriously, how hard to put up some dedicated servers?

Look, this game was fine, but very much let down by the weak performance of the MP (even though, when it worked, the MP was fun).

The game has lost its chance to be a big mp hit now...

I've given up. Techland keep saying "we are making the patch as we speak" i'm not a developer but i know it doesn't take this long to patch. Get good Techland/Ubisoft.

Agreed. I've given up on the game anyway. Playing good old Sins of a Solar Empire and theHunter these days instead. Looking forward to Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising in October, as well. Thanks for a good single player experience. I am however owed a thanks for beta testing your multiplayer.
