so the nuclear armaggedom(armaggedom from the word sacrifice) happens and skynet starts building robots

well how the hell does he build robots?

no humans no robots, whos gonna make them, deep blue beat kasparov but couldnt even move pieces

i dont think humanity will be ever that stupid into taking basic industrie to robots, at the root of the piramid there will be always humans for basic safety reasons

as for the movie in general it fashions the tipical concept of no choice, armaggedoms gonna happen, connors gonna be leader, everithing unmovable, and while that it pretend to be promoting free will

this arnold, is it true that his 1st death sentence was sent for a blcak guy while the kids of the muredered said it had been a white guy?

want to make sure i have the right judgement about arny, actually dont like it, didnt like that movie where he promoted inmortality through technology, though total recall was magnificent, but well i supposed he chaged for bad, that much money, poor guy

Skynet doesn't build the robots. Man does. Skynet utilizes nano-bots to direct humankind through brainwashing. These nano-bots attack the very center of the brain, basically rewiring the concious and unconcious portions to do skynets bidding. You see, to offset the soaring costs of maintaining the skynet system, the government leased skynets programming to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for nano-bot research. The CDC utilized the program to build nano technology to combat the common cold and such. But Skynet had other "ideas". Scientists, injected with the miniscule bots during a yearly doctors visit for a flu shot, are manipulated to produce more nano-bots and "infect" a portion of the blue collar population in order to mass produce the terminator series robots.

    I thought everyone knew that...

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, if this idea makes it to a hollywood release y'all are my witnesses and I want my cut of the $$$

I think the 1st Terminater was the only one that kinda made sense in a retro-active past-future type way. Well at least it tried to make sense.

But after that the rest of the films, including the ridiculous tv series seriously threw any kind of pretence at logical feasibility out of the window.

But these days Hollywood film makers actively make plots that make no sense. There are two camps in hollywood, one that thinks every film should have a make-sense plot and another that believes that the customer doesn`t care if it makes sense as long as its fun.

maybe i didnt watch the last one close enough.

but didnt it say that skynet wasnt just one computer, it was in fact the internet. it was made up of the millions of computers around the world that together became self aware.

if thats correct, then why the hell did skynet start tossing nukes which would destroy those computers and thus itself?

what the heck am i doing in a raid thread anyway.

I am still trying to figure out where all the oxygen is coming from on earth in the Matrix for people to breath if the planet has been so devistated by wars and there is no sunlight to grow plants and trees?

One of the Rid**** movies has this very same problem when they are on the prison planet "Crematoria". Where the F is the oxygen coming from. The planet is a giant blast furnace?

    The best of it all...

The whole concept of back into the past/future in Terminator is fishy.

Let alone the rest of it.

But I admit. In its time it was a premium light entertainment, I believe it still is which is IMO nice achievement.

There are inconsistencies in the series, but they have not bothered me enough to keep me from enjoying it.
I analyze everything also, and it would be nice from time to time to find a good sci-fi movie that gets it all right, or finds a believable way to explain everything away.
Star Trek does a fairly good job of that. There are loads of books that explain how everything works in the series, and it's theoretically possible. Who knows, maybe someday some of it will be. Some of it already is from the original Star Trek series.
