Assassin's creed wont work.....and I'm not very computer illiterate please help :( | Forums

Hi I got Assassins creed on saturday and installed it......when I installed it it came up with a quick little box which said I had all the requirements to play this game.

However when I go to play the game....all that happend is that it plays the introduction of the game where he kills a few guys at a hanging....(Which is SOOO awesome!!!), but when the introduction is complete it takes itself out of the game and just says
"Assassin's Creed has topped workin"
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program an notify you if a solution is available"

I then tried downloading the patch hoping that this will sort it all out however it just keeps doing the same thing. It even got to the point where it said that the patch version 1.02 cant basicly do its job cos it comes up with another notice saying

"This patch is designed for version 1.00 only. Version 1.02 was found instead.

If anyone can help I will be very very grateful.....especially if you could give me a guide in how to fix this as this game looks awesome.

I also have a similar problem with Star wars knights of the old republic 2 the sith lords if anyone else can help me out on that aswell.

post a dxdiag but I'm guesing you probly have a intel graphics chip and they are made for office work and not gaming or your graphics drivers are out of date.

go to start>run and type dxdiag, then click in "save informations"(or something like that) save and post it here
