Thread: setting "recon" target | Forums

I've been having trouble getting a successful recon mission to work using a Stuka. Does the game not consider them a recon aircraft? Could'nt get it to work with various experiments with landing checked/unchecked timing etc. The official FMB with the game says something about setting a time period to be above the target. Where is that? Do you need to "set" the target to the recon icon for a success?
Any general tips for recon missions would be appreciated! Thanks.

hUMan PlaYER can succed in Recon when flying Stuka (tested).

don't forget AI aircraft DON'T DO RECON!

    Look at the TimeOut section.

A number of hours and minutes can be put in the boxes and this defines How Much Time you get to Complete this Target Successfully. If the number is ZERO in TimeOut then you get unlimited time! If the number is 0 20 then you get 20 minutes to find the recon target.

    NO!

Did you know that AI aircraft DON'T DO RECON!
Only HUMAN players can do recon missions!
    -

Did you check that you are only setting targets for ONE side in the mission - the human players side!

Post the mission file here if you want and I'll see if I spot anything odd.

here for you is a mission with Player in a stuka and recon target. Copy this text into a .MIS file and check it out in the FMB.

Thanks for the tips. Does the altitude make a difference?
Do you need to loiter over the recon area for a specific time?
