hhmm i think you know that chrome is @ beta now and it doesnt make any sens to "support" something that isnt ready atm.

i think its googles turn to make hommk playable @ chrome because they only need to support all standards that FF supports today

maybe if chrome is released with 1.0 there could be fixt some problems from hommks site but at the moment we have to wait

As long as the final version of Chrome isn't released, the mess can be considered coming from Chrome itself...
When he will be released, if he follow all the recommandation of the W3C (that define the "rules" about the web), there will normally be no problem...

I think it's a good idea to support it... when it leaves beta, probably in 10 years or so

Opera is horribly non-standard compliant. How bad varies from version to version, but this is a decision made by the Opera team to sacrifice anything for speed. They CLAIM to be oh so standard compliant, but strangely enough it's ALWAYS Opera that breaks web pages. They cut corners to make it faster, and IMO they are also horrible programmers that leave a lot of bugs in the browser.

It's fast - but it sacrifices way too much for that, and now it's not even that fast compared to Firefox or especially Chrome anymore. It's the ONLY browser I will make no effort to make any web page I design compatible with. If it works it works - if not who cares besides the very vocal minority that worships it.

IE is the only worse browser to make pages compatible with - but due to market share you have to deal with that unfortunately. But I wouldn't expect Opera to be the focus of much work from the team. Of course - I could be wrong and they might have someone in love with Opera on their team.

As for Chrome - given Google's normal "beta" policies I think the 10 years is probably accurate. I think it could be interesting to play Kingdoms with Chrome due to it's blazing speed (particularly with the javascripts that this game depend heavily on), but soon we will have Firefox 3.1 that will hopefully deliver even better speeds and be easier to adapt to.

That said Chrome is pretty standards compliant - it would probably be fairly easy to make it work.

wow, apparently Opera made you grumpy somehow. Only problem i have ever seen with opera is when people try to write cheat html / css code that works in firefox, or when people write a page to only allow IE or FF.

    Proof please.

Don't want to go into a back-and-forth on the subject here. It's not suited for these boards, but what do you consider "cheat" html/css?

I've experienced massive personal problems with Opera using both standard websites like phpBB/Invision and making my own from scratch in html/php. I don't know what kind of "proof" you are talking about. How do you "prove" that opera didn't work with a specific page in a specific version (because it does vary wildly from version to version of Opera).

But in each and every case it worked in every other browser around, and passed html/css tests as well. The bug was/is with Opera. The point of my post is that they claim to be standards compliant so I write standard compliant and if it doesn't work (and sometimes it doesn't) then it's obviously Opera that isn't really standard compliant. How much more simple can proof be.

How about they get to make the other browsers work well before beginning on a new one ? I mean they still need to work on IE as far as i know.

Clearly. Such grumpy posts for no reason.
