hi all im new here
i just have a question regarding the performance capabilities of a radeon 4850
i am playing the game 1280 x 1024 very high with 2x AA
but first my pc specs
AMD Athlon 64X2 5400 (recent upgrade from x2 4200)
2 gig DDR2 ram
Coolermaster Real Power 550w
Gigabyte 4850 512mb Zalman fan edition (recent upgrade from Gigabyte 256mb 7900gt)
and my motherboard i believe is M55SLI-S4
ok, i first ran the game with the x2 4200 CPU and 4850 card but was not too happy with the performance
i then upgraded my cpu to x2 5400 and while it has improved i seem to find the frames locked in at around 26fps inddors and in the main towns.
other times through the dense jungles i may get 40-60+ fps! im confused, its like the game starts off well then after playing for a bit, or going into town it gets into the 20's fps and stays there. the performance seems rather inconsistent.
my impression was that a 4850 would run FC2 silky smooth. was i misled or is this about right for this card
would like to hear how other people with similar setups perform
