Darn it, just posted this on SH3 by mistake. Would like to suggest a future capability, allow the skipper to release fuel into the water.

The escorts almost always play their searchlights over the area they just plastered looking for signs of success. If we could dump some fuel to give them a slick to photograph for the wife and kids they might pack up sooner.

That would be cool, and you should be able to dump assorted trash through a torpedo tube to strengthen the illusion of a sinking .

Did you know that the japanese told interrogators after the war that they had accounted for 486 US Navy submarines, despite the fact that the US Navy "only" lost 59 boats?. They must all have used that trick... or the japanese were afraid to report submarines that got away to their superiors.

Maybe with DivingDucks Debris mod, this could be an idea

This was actually done in real life, and was an option in some previous sub sims: "Dump Debris" Throw out random garbage, oil, and unused sub parts to float to the surface and make them think you've been destroyed.
